Yeah, I'm new to collecting, and I really don't like the thought of needing to glue stuff on a brand new figure I just paid $300 for. I have contacted Sideshow and am waiting for their response. I'm in Vancouver, Canada... The the wrong side of the border for when it comes to buying figures in USD lol

Oh man, are you so right. I went to UPS store the other day to get a shipping quote for a Hot toys figure in that little shipper box and the absolute cheapest method would cost $30 USD from Florida to Canada. And that doesn't include the taxes and custom fees you guys have to pay before they release the figure to you. All that hassle of cost for an action figure, but a really good 1.

Just got him very nice ! IMG_4022.JPGIMG_4024.JPGIMG_4025.JPG

Just got my Cap today and found a little problem once I opened it... this piece that should be on his straps is hanging off the figure by a thread. Worth contacting SS over? I'm a bit hesitant to use glue because I don't want to get it anywhere else on the figure. Any advice?

This'll be my first non iron man/ultron marvel hot toys figure (assuming the other two figuarts turtles come in stock at BBTS and I can ship everything before sideshow starts shipping deadpool lol)

I couldn't resist being able to have cap and the mark 46 fight each other.

I've been sticking to main iron man armors plus villains of his.. So, I couldn't have the 46 without getting a cap to oppose him.

Got my Cap last night. Just quick thoughts.
I was expecting to open the box and see this completely blow away the AOU Cap. It doesnt, if it edges it...its just by a little.
I think most of the big advantage is the pants with better knee pads and the boots. It gives a better impression of Evans physique since he has long legs. The AOU had baggy pants with crappy knee pads.
So if you have AOU cap, might be better to just buy the CW pants and boots.

My big disappointment is the new helmeted head. Not too crazy about it. I think its a step back from AOU cause the likeness is not as good. I'm using my modded AOU helmeted head (added some sheen to the helmet) instead.

Overall, I'm happy with Civil War Cap.

Congrats, bud, and great pictures! Looks boss. :duff

Glad to hear you're happy with him, but sorry to hear he wasn't entirely what you were expecting. I hope I didn't steer you wrong in thinking that you were going to be blown away by him. I personally like it more than AoU Cap. It doesn't blow it away, but I do think between the two, this is the overall better figure. So for those who did sell AoU Cap to get this one, I personally would have done the same.

Did you have a tough time getting the shield on at all?

Definitely agree with you about the pants. While the knee pads on AoU Cap didn't bother me too much as mentioned (though they did need help), these are much better. I do loathe how baggy AoU Cap's pants are though; there is so much excess fabric that hangs off the back of his ass and in his groin. The tailoring on these pants is much better.

Did you pull the pants down on yours? If so, I noticed you seem to like to pull the pants a bit low on your Cap figures. I had to pull mine up so that way the belt line is just underneath that straight line in the pattern on the white portion, right underneath the middle red stripe. There doesn't seem to be as much of a gap between the middle red stripe and the belt line on this suit, as there was on AoU Cap.

use fabric glue. its good to have it your HT repair kit

Is the box/box art the same as Battling Cap? Is that brick wall ground base a custom? It looks similar to the Battling Cap base.

Anyone have side-by-side comparison photos of the two? Are they the same or is there actually "battle-damage" on Battling Cap? If this is delayed from Sideshow (didn't receive an email though), I'm considering just picking up the switch-out-mouth-head and shield separately parted out and save a bit on the whole figure if its a replica...

What head is on your Golden Age Cap?

A slippy slope dude! Getting your fist soft goods HT will change you, prepare for an expanded collection! :lol

Thanks buddy.
No, not at all man, you didnt overhype the figure for me.
I do actually agree with most of the points you mentioned about the figure.
The biggest letdown for me was the helmeted head cause I had the option of getting the battle damage Cap, and I chose regular cause of the swappable helmeted head.
Had I known I wouldnt even use it, I would have gone with the battle damage as I thought the base is pretty cool.

I didnt have any problems at all putting the shield on, to my surprise. Cause beside you, I've read from several people that they had a hard time putting theirs on. But mine was pretty easy.

Lol, no I didnt lower the pants on CW cap like I did with AOU. AOU needed it eventhough it didnt line up with the actual movie suit, but you had to push the pants down to make the upper torso look normal.
The pants on mine was like that straight out of the box, and I didnt really pay attention to where its supposed to be cause it looked normal to me, and I put more focus on making up my mind on which head to use. I really wanted to use the CW helmeted head cause that was one of the biggest thing that I was looking forward to in getting this figures. So it was kinda a bummer for me personally feeling letdown with the helmeted head.
I'm sure a lot of people are happy with theirs, but for me personally, I had to use my spare AOU head. So that kinda bugged me that I had to use an old head for this figure.

But overall though, I'm quite happy with the figure.

That is true. I never understood Hot Toys but when I couldn't find a reasonably priced statue of Boba Fett to add to my statue collection I turned to 1/6th scale. I wasn't sure about it for a loooong time because of hot much like a doll it is but now I think I have 12 of them. Most of them I bought second hand or at a high discount but it's still hard to say no to these things once you start.

Thankfully, I had a goal in mind of the ones I wanted and I've managed to stick to that with the exception of one. Only a few more on that list until I am done.

Just arrived at my front door via the magic of UPS!!! Looking forward to cracking the shipper open later this evening!

I flicked over from Flexi pay to the "one payment" option last week on Sideshow in hope of getting this sooner... Does anyone know how long it takes to be charged and shipped after doing this?

Really nice. Thumbs up. Love the expression better in person.

Congrats, Craig. How's the arm movement on yours? Can you lift his arms high enough to get a punching pose? I have the BV one and mine can't get that high.

The suit restricts movement on the shoulder area and I can't rotate the arm.
