Actually, the U.S. has been behaving the way it has in the past ten years out of deference to the opinions of rest of the world. Were the U.S. to start acting as though it had nothing to prove to anyone, we wouldn't be in the position we're in now. Our current problems are a result of attempting to please all of the critics that have accumulated since we acquired superpower status in the first place.

Don't get me wrong. I don't think we should have listened to Europe whine about us, or the Middle East whine about us, or communists of every stripe from Russia to Asia to Africa to South America whine about us. To this day, the accusations levelled against us have been bull****, twisted by the envy and resentment of liars and idiots to make us out to be some kind of bully. When we are asked for help, we're accused of policing the world. When we don't help, we're accused of greed. We have tried to answer both sides of that for decades and what you see now is the end result.

So you know what? **** off. We haven't tried to conquer a goddamned thing and the rest of the world needs to stop blaming the boogeyman in the western hemisphere for their failures as nations and cultures. Even in the condition we're in now, we're still more awesome than you. It'll take more than half a century of socialism creeping through our schools and banks, or primitive, tribalist zealots throwing temper tantrums to make a third world country out of America.

U.S. corporations buy up the water rights in various countries so that all of the locals need to buy bottled water that they can't afford. These companies use the U.S. military as their security, basically. U.S. corporations buy up natural resources from other countries after they are intimidated by people who oppose being assassinated by people trained by U.S. military, and then the U.S. military protects "U.S. National interests" by protecting that company's installations there.

Not unlike Manifest Destiny.

Pretty sure you need to cite stuff like this. :)

Devil's reply was spot on. However, I feel the need to address this section of your nonsensical post. The government isn't and will not be responsible for feeding my wife and kids. My wife and I take on that responsibility. So they can neither put in or take out food from our mouths. We are not lazy thumbsuckers that expect handouts. We work very hard to provide ourselves a good quality of life. THAT is the true American way. :flag

What l mean "taking food out of Americans mouths" isn't about handouts or welfare. I ment it's hard to feed your family when many can't find jobs or steady work, either because the government, city, or town are cutting jobs and tightning budgets, That is all because of the U.S. spending everything they have. It effects everyone.

You can't deny if your country hadn't spent so much your country's quality of life would be better in every single way then it is now.

How do you post something as fact and then post "if true"? So now we are not only stealing oil but also stealing drinking water?

I have been told it is true, and I believe it. I only said "if true" for the sake of argument. Gary Null mentioned it on one of his radio shows.

There are plenty of opportunities for work. My quality of life is just fine. I work hard and am rewarded accordingly. Nothing is stopping unemployed people from finding work. What I find more common is that they choose to not take other positions that they may feel are "beneath them". There are plenty of jobs available. However, since you are not from the US I can understand why you may not have a clue what you are talking about.

Radio hosts?

Come on, now... I wasn't familiar with this guy until you mentioned him, but even a cursory glance at the guy does not lead me to believe he's any more reliable or unbiased than Rush Limbaugh or Howard Stern!

Give this man a kewpie doll! You would also solve most problems related to crime, health, education, and general quality of life.

Reference?

IMO, it's a cop out to blame drug abuse on poverty. If you can't afford the drugs to begin with, then why are you taking them? Also, you're not going to improve your situation by taking drugs. So if you live in poverty and take drugs, that's on you.

Also, alot of people are poor, but they don't steal or commit crimes. Once again, it's a cop out. And most people who are on welfare can get free education and free health care, at least in my state. There's alot of freebies out there. It's the working poor that don't catch the break.

The prohibition on Marijuana is finally starting to be lifted, the same way prohibition on alcohol was lifted in the 20's. It's about damn time. I'm not a pot smoker. But it's time the drug dealers are put out of business and its time our struggling country starts reaping the benefits of heavily taxed marijuana so that we can build more schools. Build more prisons. And put more police officers on the street that can spend their time and resources putting terrorists behind bars, instead of pinching petty, non-violent weed smokers.

NAFTA is what kicked us in the a ss job wise. Also, shipping in low and high skilled trade from overseas as if there aren't people here who can do the jobs. Which is bull****. And the new immigration law that they want to pass will bring in even more.

And all you need to do is read up on all the things that can be made from hemp, including medicines. Allowing farmers to grow it would help this country alot!

Agreed.

and its time our struggling country starts reaping the benefits of heavily taxed marijuana so that we can build more schools.

Only thing is, how can it be taxed effectively? There will still be a black market of sorts, since anyone can make this stuff in their home.

Build more prisons.

lol, I don't think you'll need to if marijuana is legal. I don't know the percentage of prisoners who are incarcerated for drug-related crimes, whether it's possession, dealing, etc. But I imagine it must be huge.

Poverty and social equality are deeper issues that are directly connected to drug usage, but there are plenty of wealthy people that do just as many drugs and they are not the ones getting arrested and/ or jailed. I agree that everyone should be personally responsible for their own actions and choices. I have at least 15 pharmacies within walking distance from my front door, and all manner of people go there for whatever reason good or I'll.

Agree with you a 100%.

It's going to be a riot seeing all the druggies out openly on the streets every day. Be like the 60s and 70s all over again.

The good news is the rich and powerful who aren't slaves to the weed will be able to capitalize on the losers who are. Just like cigarettes and alcohol. Except the straight laced middleclass people will cause jealousy and be scapegoated by those who willfully put themselves in shackles. Then the middleclass will be burdened with a growing population of deadbeats.

I predict social programs sky rocket to support the clinically lazy. Just what the democrats want. Vote for them and they'll pay you to sit at home and do dope while they tax the **** out of people who actually go to work and do something productive.

If you Make weed legal and tax it it will still be more expensive then the illegal weeds old today so guess what dealers will still deal. There is to much money to be lost for them.

Nafta may have been responsible for a small bit of the problem we are in but both corporate greed, employee greed, and the lifestyle that many in the East were willing to put up with is more responsible than anything. As the people in the East start demanding more money we should see more companies bring work back to the U.S.
