If you didn't own the "Superman Returns" Jor-El, would you recommend buying it now or waiting for a possible Jor-El down the road? Will there be another Jor-El done?

And for those who own it, is the quality there?
I'm not even sure if HT still has the right to do Brando figures. I would pick up the older Jor-El now if you were thinking about getting one at all, because there is no guarantee another will be made, and if not, the existing one's price is gonna go up up up after Reeve Supes is released. Head sculpt is very good, IMO, especially considering it was made before Hot Toys really started hitting their strides with good likenesses.

So, is Supes going to be a DX or not? A lot of people in this thread are calling him DX Supes, but I thought that MILK article stated otherwise.

Thanks, kar. Thanks exactly what I was hoping to hear. I'm totally out of the loop when it comes to Hot Toys and these licenses. When I heard about this licenses though, there was no way I could pass the Reeves' Supes up. I didn't start thinking about Jor-El until now, and thought, probably a good idea to ask. So, much appreciated!

Of course, it is also possible that they do have/will get Brando's likeness rights again, and release one that blows the original out of the water where its value plummets to near original retail :lol

Original teaser said DX, recent Facebook page by Hot Toys guy (photographer? painter?) said it will not be a DX. I hope for the latter.

True, but I think there will always be someone wanting the "original," much like those still buying the first Mark II, despite the new Mark II announcement. I'll take a little hit, but hopefully not too much. Point well taken though.

You can't stop Metal Gear.

You can only hope to contain it.

If its not a dx then the prices wont be super high, but look at the sweeny todd figure for example. Its not a dx but it comes with the exact same things a dx figure would come with ( ie backdrop, large stand with name plate, alot of accessories etc....) The only difference is that the eyes dont move. The price is also like a dx. So either way i think this figure will be in the $200-230 range

You're confused.

Also not a DX, $209. https://www.sideshowtoy.com/?page_id=4489&sku=901375&ref=search&&901375

Yeah, I'm not sure the shifty eyes affects price all that much. Price seems to be a function of overall gear and engineering work required, and license/likeness popularity and costs. PERS adds some cost, but it could easily be off-set by a fancy toy with lots of other extras.

although not the biggest fan of pers, this is one figure i think a pers would be the most useful, giving the choice of a pose that suits standing up (eg straight ahead), or for a flying pose when hes flying.
after seeing the dx jack sparrow my expectations for this have increased!

They wouldn't be offering to show the damn thing if they had nothing to show. The fact that the figure is in the poll mean that it's at least ready to be revealed.

Oh, and

:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl
I can do that too. It's not hard, nor is it clever. :)

Nor does it make you any less of a wannabe knowitallnewb either. As Kara said...

So they're ready to reveal Metal Gear, Superman, Batman 89, Harlock, and Sucker Punch figures?? Damn. Gonna be an exciting next couple of days/weeks when HT releases all those official pictures.

They also had a poll with all those Stallone characters, so I guess they've got those ready to go as well. Show your damn Cobra figure, you cowards!!

:lecture:lecture:lecture They have polls all the time. It doesn't mean ____. Those of us who've been collecting HT since their early days might know a bit more than a rookie. :wink1:

Look at it this way you guys. The fact that Superman is up for voting means that he's ready to show. Meaning he's pretty much done. Even if he doesn't win, it shouldn't be too long before he's revealed.

Gotta agree with you,
past HT Japan "polls" are just there to get fans excited, decisions have already been made far in advance.
Not long ago they did one for the "next" MJ figure, though they've had 2 in development...
