I’m surprised to see all these comments cutting up the show. I was expecting praises for the show. I’m enjoying it. Especially the last one, which redeemed the show after a so so episode 4. I mean I was shocked at the power of Vader. Before this episode, the most powerful I saw Vader was in the Rogue One hallway scene. The scene when Vader and the Stormtroopers invaded the base reminded me of the Hoth Echo Base takeover. Vader eventually got to the Millennium Falcon, but he saw it get away from him. I thought that would happen here, but he stopped the ship in midair and brought it down easily. He did like Magneto and ripped the side out. Not to mention he didn’t even need his lightsaber to fight Reva.

I mean come on it’s like nobody is ever happy.

Vader doing uber powerful things creates plot holes in the OT. It is also just flashy events. Sure those scenes look awesome but if the story and script are trash then such scenes are just glitter sparkles on a turd.

The way to think of it is layers. There is nothing beneath the surface of this show. It is shallow and very little thought was put into the story, the dialogue or even the setpieces.

Those who hate or at least criticise the show value ideas, consistency, storytelling, acting, logic and reverence of the source material.

Those who like the show are focused on nostalgia, more is more action/power scenes and visual spectacle.

If the show was actually written and produced well with a logical story worth telling that was consistent with the established canon and well scripted and directed then both groups would be happy. As it stands Disney is catering to only one.
That is why they fail.

The best ST will never be better than the worst SW.
Correct! Nice to see Jye finally coming around. The best of the sequel trilogy will never be better than the worst Star Wars. It’s healthy for Jye to accept at last, as we do, that the Sequel Trilogy is not Star Wars. Good goood.

You're professing your opinion as fact. While I don't disagree that super charging Vader presents some challenges with the OT, the PT did that as well with the much more dynamic lightsaber duels. Star Wars has never been Citizen Kane. Empire is nearly perfect in my eyes and I'm perfectly happy re-watching that without thinking BoBF ruined my favorite character or enjoying Kenobi for what it is...a fairly shallow but entertaining opportunity to see Ewan and Hayden reprise characters that I enjoyed 20 years later.

What you and the Emperor don't realize is that Vader and Reva are the OG Dyad in the Force. That's why Vader didn't kill her.
