He survived worse as a deputy, so he better not quit on us now.

Yeah, I kind of think he chooses the other gift and becomes a regular on Ahsoka while making an appearance or two on Mando S3, then the big payoff toward the end of the Mando series when he pulls the beskar from the moth balls and comes rolling in to fight alongside Mando.

Appropriate we're talking about the series Ahsoka and Mando in the BoBF thread since that's pretty much how F&F have treated the last two episodes. Fett got a single nod at Mando in the last two episodes of his own series...and those two episodes were miles better. If he had his helmet on during the nod (ala ROTJ) it would've been the perfect amount of Morrison... :)

This has been one of the weirdest seasons of a Star Wars series.

It's worked out more like an anthology show considering the difference in tone and focus, like that anime themed series of stories a little while back.

Just one episode to pull the two threads back together, though the first four episodes will always stand out as being more of a Robot Chicken spoof.

So no helmet even for that. God forbid.

While I say fair play to Morrison for pointing out how Fett is talking too much for his liking - I'm sure he's a primary reason Fett is hardly ever wearing his helmet so he loses me there.

I know the argument is that Fett isn't a real Mandalorian and does not have to follow their code and I know it's all fiction but it still bugs me. The whole idea of Mandalorians not removing their helmets (in company) ****ing derived from Boba Fett. :gah:

I did find it pretty funny when those worker droids quickly constructed Mando a waiting room on the fly and also when the Jawas had the krayt dragon skull hoisted up on top of the Sandcrawler. Not sure if they intend to sell it or are using it as a hood ornament?

Wowee wow wow!

I knew we were in for more Filoni self-wank inserts galore, but it worked better for me this time cause come on....Luke was there!
Spoiler Spoiler:

Luke looked and sounded flawless in my eyes. If this is the future of entertainment then people that have turned over their likeness rights to the end of the universe are in big trouble cause it's just about there. I felt ZERO uncanny valley watching him. This opens the can of worms to a whole new level. No more rubbery faced, shiny condom skinned video game characters. They can RE-CREATE people now, and I can only assume that means dead ones too. What was once a tragic dream on the set of the Crow in 1994 is now a reality and every actor that's ever been concerned about their "legacy" or "integrity" better start calling their lawyers now. Especially guys that had lots of neglected, money starved kids over the years.

TL;DR.....Luke looked effing fantastic and the S2 finale cameo was like a beta test. Here's ONE time I'd be ok with an updated special edition if they wanted him to match this episode.

Awesome episode!

Spoiler Spoiler:
Welll...maybe, maybe not....that little tubby blue alien has proven to be resourceful and I saw Figrin Dann jamming on his guitar with the drum-droid, but I could be wrong but didn't even glimpse Max on keys before it went BOOM! Maybe he was out back having a hookah break.

At any rate, good riddance to that complete waste of time location, and totally worthless character Jennifer Beals was playing. I bet they filmed all her scenes in a day. She did NOTHING and had nothing to do with the story. And never got into a lingerie pillow fight with Fennec, damn it!

I also don't think Vanth is dead. He got one shot, seemingly non-lethal, in the shoulder. Then Bane made it a point to shoot Deputy Dead Meat like 7 times in a row point blank to show he means business. (If you didn't know Deputy Dead Meat's sole purpose on this show was to die gruesomely the moment his character is introduced and hey told Mando "Hey you can't park here!" you must be new to television. They uplayed the violence of scene by turning him into swiss cheese but it allows Vanth to live another day, with or without.....ugh.... "mods."

How did we go from the first four episodes to these two amazing episodes?! What happened?!

What happened was the Book of Boba Fett was a complete and total flop, the sound of a wet turd slapping against the concrete on a hot day, and once Filoni and Favreau realized this they said "nah man....we can't let this happen. BoBF is over....this is The Mandalorian again." And so it is. And so it was (seemingly) redeemed.

The ONE thing I could do without is Ahsoka, but that's Filoni's little waifu so I know her gross droopy head floppers are gonna keep showing up all the time, but I can just ignore it and focus on the good stuff.

I'll leave you gentlemen with one last awesome image. If there was ever even the remotest doubt in your minds that Mando is a loose retelling of the epic samurai manga "Lone Wolf and Cub" from the 70s, I present to you these pages from very early in the story, and it's so similar it had to be used as a storyboard:

there's something seriously wrong with this damn show when everything else besides the main conflict is interesting. this is boba fett's show.. cameos are okay, but whoever wrote and produce this should be ashamed. its like kathleen kennedy was in charge of the first 4 episodes and the next 2 were filoni and favaraeu's work.. they could easily summarize everything from the 4 episodes into like.... 2 episodes. everyone cares about everyone else besides the main character that its centered around. they just executed this really REALLY poorly, this is on par with "somehow palpatine returned". its a shame because i don't want the other projects to be bad like this show. this is a serious issue.

its like they made a deal "okay you get to produce the first 4 under my name, but the next 3 belongs to us untouched."

Actually the first 4 episodes was more of what happens when you have Favreau with Rodriguez, and those 2 last episodes are what you get when you have Filoni, Favreau and a director who fit the tone of the episode(Bryce Dallas Howard in episode 5 and Filone in episode 6(who is an amateur but he is evolving at each episode).

BUT
All of this is kathleen kennedy work, the good and the bad, because the thing is, if you did not like the first 4 episodes the one who have to get the blame is Favreau WHO WROTE THAT ****.
People needs to learn who does what in a big budget production.

Spoiler Spoiler:

I get the compromise though. This guy had to actually act this time around.

The final episode of The Mandalorian's second season along with today's episode of TBOBF are hints of the proper Sequel Trilogy that Lucas proposed in the early '80s. It's been a long time coming, but at least now CGI technology is good enough to manage it.

Khev will not like this talk of proper sequel trilogy... heretic.

Still feeling the good vibes from this episode, when they get it right they really do. Seeing those Luke and Grogu scenes brings warm feelings to my heart.

What would a trilogy set in between the OT and ST be called anyway? Is it still a sequel if it's set before another sequel?

Actually those 2 episodes should have been a Mandalorian christmas special to not interfere this hard on the Book of Boba Fett plot, or even as a 2 hours special as a tease for the Book of Boba Fett.

Those last 2 episodes were really good but to get to then you need to watch the first 4 ****** episodes.

Finally, Star Wars is fun again.

I had a pretty bad day, and this really cheered me up. This is how you do nostalgia b8. I think I'm getting softer. My edgelord ways are waning. I'm... I'm getting... Jedipilled.

I don't think Grogu will choose the saber. He'll go for the chainmail, Luke will realise that he's making the same cultish mistakes as the PT Jedi, and he's gonna hunt down Grogu and Mando and thus join the final fight. Thereby giving us a quasi-EU NJO moving forward instead of repeating the same beats. At least I hope that's what'll happen. I'd wish for a ST retcon, but this is real life; such miracles don't happen.

Honestly, Beta Fattso has been such a disappointment, he's gotten outshined in his own show so much, that I'm kinda starting to feel bad about him. He's just a little tard, I shouldn't bully him too hard...

PS: Luke's attached to the hip to Artoo. Kinda hypocritical to make everyone else go cold turkey.

I have zero issue skipping right to 5 and 6 on a rewatch between season 2 and the eventual season 3 of Mando.
