Honestly, the only way I can see this show turning around even a little bit is by having Boba turn out to be gaslighting everyone into thinking he’s weak.
I genuinely can’t fathom the same people responsible for the scene in Mando season 2 wouldn’t be cognizant of how much of a departure the character is in BOBF from even the episodes in that show. I didn’t much care for the first episode, but I really liked the world building in the second, but this third episode is just so bad that it’s got me feeling like I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Like, aspects of it are SO BAD that it has to be on purpose, right? They can’t have thought it would be a good idea to put out something that cringey without realizing it. It’s that bad.

I've wondered that myself. And with apparently just 2 henchmen not including Fennec exactly what control does he have over any of this operation? Considering he seems pretty clueless about how to be a crimeboss what made him want the gig in the first place? Why is the palace virtually empty apart from the people who drop in for a quick consult? Even setting aside the character inconsistencies with the OT Boba Fett I feel like none of this has been adequately addressed.

No way Disney wants a character like that for one of their flagship series.

He commits the crime of being too good-natured and being taken advantage of by heartless meanies. But if being a cuck is a crime, then he doesn't want to be right!

I did not like it the first time I saw it, I probably went in with a bad attitude about someone else playing Han Solo and Lando etc. Then I saw it again and really liked it. It’s not Rogue One but it’s solid.

I like it a lot. It felt strong with the early Brian Daley EU vibe, barring a couple of things (Solo's name and L3-37).

It's acceptable as canon to me. It didn't do anything that I thought was outrageous or anything that seemed contradictory for the characters.
