Well that’s kind of disappointing. I mean it’s a little bit Gal, and a lot a bit generic. And the hair is just awful.

Gamora’s hair worked because it was much longer. The shorter the rooted hair the harder it is to style. WW’s hair can’t hold a decent shape because of the length, overtime if that hair isn’t managed it will look bad.

The (at this point never a good idea) rooted hair should be a non-issue…I can’t imagine why anyone would display it without the helmet either way and the helmet would have been a fail if they had to work it around sculpted hair.
No issues here for me.

And the paint is very soft compared to the prototype
It’s the standard drop in quality that all HT figure face from proto to production. Idk why anyone is surprised. HT sculpts have been getting soft in production for awhile now. They still look nice, but no figure sculpt has come out looking as crisp and detailed as the proto in years if ever IMO.

I’m pretty sure this figure will be impressive in hand, especially after styling the hair.

I think you're somehow right about the long hair theory. However, I have the Soosootoys Katana with a rooted short hair, and the hair looks awesome! So maybe it has something to do with reheating/modelling the rooted hair in production, or the way they shaped the root holes for the hair, I'm not sure.. anyways, I hope I can futz the hair when I got her in hand.
The answer is Dean Knight - but he seems to have moved on from HT.
Ah.. I see. What happened with him and HT?

The sculpt looks just like her to me. The only thing that kills it is the rooted hair, and that's something HT never does well. Only good rooted hair I've ever seen was work done by customizers.

What went wrong with the sculpt? The proto looked perfect. It doesn't look bad but compared to the original pics it's another generic woman rather than gal, like all their previous sculpts

The only way sculpted hair could work is if they did the Jyn Erso hairmet thing. I think they made the right choice here, and the product we're getting is pretty much exactly what I was expecting. Helmet on will look great.

My guess is they can't get the paint apps correct for a mass production. The sculpt has got to be from the same mold they creates for the prototype. The hair is what it is for rooted, and you might be able style it closer to a better look. The face looks a bit chunkier to me and I think it's because of the paint apps

Even though this suit was gorgeous in design…I felt this suit was used poorly in the actual film and it didn’t impress me that she only was highlighted using it in flight mostly.

That’s why I”m passing on this HT version on her and waiting for the classic look :lecture

Again if the proto wasn't so damn good I think there would be less complaints other than the doll hair. That conflict hardly ever escapes wrath.

But hey, you have a helmet that covers that up and she looks killer in her full getup. All of your friends eyes will be drawn to the golden wonder woman. Especially with that wingspan.

If you only look at the helmet-on photos this figure is stunning. Am tempted to have only one WW but this with the classic suit would make a nice duo.
