Great movie, my favorite Marvel thus far, even over all the Russo directed films. This one hit all the right notes and Spidey isn't even my favorite Marvel character. Based on how it ended, I can even gather where the franchise is going next. Major respect to Watts, Feign, Pascal, McKenna & Sommers. :clap

Had a second viewing. God the CGI is awful in this movie, luckily everything else is great, there’s a scene on the bridge where he’s in the Iron Spider suit and waves at a helicopter and the animation of the wave looks like it’s from a PS1 game made by like 3 people.

Re-visiting 2002's Spider-Man tonight, while I wait to see Nostalgia All The Way Home.

The first thing that struck me ... The Infinity Saga is a towering accomplishment and I was there for the whole ride and loved seeing it through to its conclusion ... but the thing we've lost is an earnestness, a sense of naiveté and innocence from films like Spider-Man.

The MCU is All Snark, All The Time now. Way too self-aware. I can understand why but I guess I'm getting too old for this stuff, because I look at the earlier stuff with great fondness. Who knows, maybe it was just the Elfman score and the corny voice-over.
