That’s a ridiculous opinion. People like Clones. People want Clones. People are going to buy Clones. Hot Toys is going to make Clones because they’re easily produced.

Bespin Han isn’t coming while Ford is alive. Howard clearly doesn’t want to make 3PO. Getting made that they’re getting passed over in favor of Clones is stupid, I’m sorry.
Well, since you’re going to be rude and show no civility in your response…

I don’t think it’s a ridiculous opinion to want a C-3PO, arguably one of the most recognizable characters in all of cinema and especially Star Wars, before a background character who never appeared in a movie and had about 4 minutes of screen time on a show.

Just because something is easy to produce doesn’t mean it should. 1/6 scale collecting isn’t about army building (because few can financially or logistical sustain it). I expect that if a company have a license, they remain mindful of what is released.

This isn’t SWTBS or Vintage. We barely get more than a few figures *teased* annually, let alone produced.

The only thing that’s ridiculous is weird excitement over another obscure clone that few will buy.

Amen……hoping to see some Coruscant (looking at you Fox and Thorn) clones…….plus continue building out the 501st (Fives, Echo,Hardcase, Kix)

I totally agree there are a lot more deserving figures. C-3PO for sure tops that list.
But collectors have “Clone Fever” ATM. And I think how much those 501st standard clones are selling (I am assuming a lot since most are buying at least 2), Capt Rex ect selling these other clones makes alot of sense business wise. I do think these will sell very well for them. And they require nothing other than new paint apps in terms of actual figure development.

I think this just speaks to the collecting community right now more than anything. People want the clones. I personally loved Clone Wars alot but I am only getting a Capt Rex. There are SO MANY other OT figures I’d rather see and buy myself like a Tie Fighter Pilot, Sandtrooper Sergeant. But Hot Toys is striking while the iron is hot. It truly is an “Attack of the Clones” moment right now.

There are 100% more deserving characters than ARC Trooper Jesse. 3PO, Padme, Mace Windu, Admiral Piett...hell even Wedge Antilles. That doesn't mean Hot Toys is going to make them. For whatever reason, Howard has no interest in making 3PO or Bespin Han. That's been discussed at length in 90 different threads here.

Now, if this was a figure like the guy in the bar from A New Hope that Obi-Wan cuts the arm off of, I could see people making a stink. But people WANT Clones. I have no idea why anyone is going to get pissy about Clones when there's going to be more coming and they're going to sell. These aren't unjustified figures, even if there are characters they should get to but just aren't.

SS's C3PO is a quite decent figure, if that guy loves that droid so much why don't just get it from them, it is serviceable in OT shelf instead of making rants about clones, weird. And that idiotic comment "few will buy" lol.

But I totally get the clones. Clearly there are a lot of Clone Wars fans and collectors who were waiting for clones. And it is beyond us why/when they drop figures. All I know is they are a business and are trying to make money. Clones are printing money ATM.
Troopers in general are loved and the clones actually have personality/stories.

Clones ain’t going anywhere. If anything the good sales will infuse money into the company to potentially make those other figures ppl want.

I’m sorry, but why are we giving this a pass?

Is he cool? Sure. But at what point are we going to acknowledge that this is largely mold reuse. I don’t think it’s exactly exciting that HT is in the business of headsculpt releases. This figure isn’t coming out before C-3PO or Bespin Han or Boushh or any number of CORE and iconic mains because he’s wildly popular or desired. He’s relatively cheap to pump out. I’ve said it before, I like clones. But I don’t think it’s good for any line when you start to see mold reuse/repaint happening to get out a quick release.

How are you going to avoid mold reuse when you are talking about CLONES of one guy, and they all wear variations of the same armor?! I mean seriously. Are you expecting them to have ten different Jango Fett sculpts? I'd love it if they did, but that aint happening. All these clones are wearing katarn armor. Theyre going to share pieces, no ifs ands or buts.

Hot Toys does little else besides reuse molds. Its why we have fifty versions of Iron Man.

But how can you not love clones, all of them. They are all worthy. They are all different, despite that one face. They are badasses who are worthy of love and respect. And thats why people buy them. They look cool and people personally like them.

I wish you luck in telling HT whats what. Seriously!! Read them the riot act.

Theyre gonna do what they want. And keep doing it. Its a known issue and nothing we do can change it. What we want does not matter, riot-act or not.

While they are doing that, many of us will enjoy these beautiful troopers they are gracing us with.

You don’t get it.

Mold reuse and repaint as a business practice tends to be the herald of bad things to come in a line. I’ve been collecting a long time. Of course all clones look the same - they aren’t releasing Jesse and Vaughn because they are fan favorites. They aren’t releasing them because they deserve a figure. They ARE releasing them because it’s a cheap money grab. Much cheaper than actually revealing literally HUNDREDS of other Star Wars characters that everyone on these threads begs for near constantly.

Releasing clones is fine. I’m not naive to think my voice matters. But collectors are hurting themselves and the spirit of the hobby when you settle for these kinds of releases.

I’m sorry that I don’t want to wait five years for core, central characters to make their way into my collection. You don’t get to critique my position because I’m not actually wrong.

I’m also amused by the sheer hypocrisy of these threads. So much “Howard ____” and then absolute pandering for a C+ level release.

You’re right. Let me make a correction:
“Few should buy.”

I’ve never seen a group of collectors so egregiously flip these pieces for food/gas/automotive/rent money in my life.

Howard's not making Bespin Han. It would have been done by now. He clearly doesn't think 3PO will sell well enough to justify how much it's going to cost to make it. Only explanations.

Collectors aren't hurting themselves. Collectors want figures like Jesse and Vaughn and they're going to sell well. That's not collectors hurting themselves. That's you being upset that the figures you want aren't getting made. There are other Han, Leia and 3PO options if you want them in your collection badly enough.

I haven’t seen a single person ever seriously ask for a Jesse or Vaughn figure.

And you’re right, I do have options. Sadly, most don’t.

Vaughn? No. But I've seen people saying they want Jesse, both on here and on Reddit. People want Fives and Echo more, but he's been the most requested Clone right after them.

Jesse is going to sell. I think most people didn't think they'd realistically make him which is why there wasn't more chatter about him. Fox seemed more likely and he's nowhere to be found. Jesse felt further down the list. That's why you didn't see more about him.

Is it me or real that the outer edge of imperial logo on Jesse's helmet looks bevelled. It looks like Jesse put a sticker there instead of paint it.

That’s fair. Most SW Hot Toys sell and sell well too barring the ST debacle. I’ll probably snag him too.

Clones are cool. They’re even cooler when displayed with the big 6-7 PT Jedi, some of which have been teased for years. I’d be a happier camper if these announcements coincided with some CW/PT Jedi reveals too (or droids).

The best thing about this? I had two Thank You $20 off promos from sideshow expiring tomorrow with nothing to use them on. Luckily, for whatever reason, whenever a new figure is put up for PO it becomes eligible for the promo code. Ever since they nerfed the promo codes and made a ton of thing ineligible, new PO’s become eligible. For a little bit at least. However, they’re not listed under Star Wars if you filter so you either have to search for Jesse or Vaughn or just add to your cart and then select the promo.

anyway, perfect timing because I was honestly dreading letting $40 go to waste when I KNOW I would use it eventually.
Thank You codes are weird. Shoretrooper squad leader, Jesse and Vaughn are eligible, but shoretrooper grunt is not. I wonder this eligibility thing is decided by lottery.
