I am not advocating for having to make significant alterations like painting hair to get things right; however I do believe matching up the two tones should be very easy. A drybrush of a silverish/platinum color should just dampen the yellow enough and bring the two closer together.

Well, based on my comparison of the two -- going solely by these early pictures -- it looks like the v2 is an improvement... but not my much.

The outfit looks more or less the same. I personally like the new hair when compared with the old sculpted hair. I do feel like the v1 face looks more like Orlando... but the new sculpt looks more realistic, less cartoony. I also like the proper scaled hands of the v2 instead of those tiny ass hands on the original.

So, the v2 gives you better hands, more lifelike sculpt, better hair, and the cool armor pieces.

The outfit and gear is more or less a wash.

looks really good in those new pics. Agreed that the hair looks a bit too yellow still but looks like it has the “platinum blonde” highlights/streaks in there so not just a solid block of yellow at least. And with the comparison to the original, it still looks like a definite upgrade to me

Well, as one of the rare advocates of HD Aragorn, I’m personally digging the new pics. I have Gimli in transit and can’t wait to have all 3 in hand and on the shelf.

Good comparisons, Wor-Gar.

HD Legolas looks older, more like "The Hobbit" Legolas. I prefer the sculpt of the Legolas 1.0 but the hair from the HD version.

It's probably due to the shoulder armor but he looks too buff in the HD version. Orlando Bloom was quite thin, in the films.

I did find it strange that he only wears the shoulder armor in "The Two Towers" but goes without them in "Return of the King".

For me, there's just not enough to justify picking up the HD version but it offers the opportunity for those that missed out on the original Legolas to add him to the collection.

Finally, those hands on the original do look tiny in that pic. Fortunately, that's not what we got. Here's a pic of my Legolas. (Hair appears more yellow in the pic than what it is in-hand...)

After feeling mostly duped by the DX Gandalf I'm canceling this. The sculpt looks like a huge downgrade from the proto and the outfit material looks cheap. My Asmus LOTR collection will begin and end with the two wizards Gandalf and Saruman. Probably will get the Prime 1 Legolas and be done.

I'm still pissed about Gandalf's hat. It blows my mind that Asmus shipped out a $350 figure that way.

Gee, tough crowd. Hair could match a little better, but overall i think it looks rather good and a fairly decent step up from the previous release.
Sure but the first final release pics looked horrible. At least these latest pics look closer to prototype and what we were expecting.

i think it's a great figure... the difference in color between sculpted and implamted hair is still a bit weird, but i hope that in person the difference is barely noticeable. The only real complain for me it's that, unlike HD Aragorn, Asmus doesn't provide an extra head with the deluxe for people that want to upgrad the first version. The figure it's wonderful in my opinion...

This is definitely Legolas to me.

Well, yeah, but this reminds me of those sculpts where you could see what they were going for, but unless you use a certain angle there's issues.

As opposed to a stellar sculpt where it doesn't matter. Overall this doesn't look much like Legolas to me any more than the first Arwen looked like Arwen. It's more "sort of". Unlike the stellar Elrond.

And I luv ASMUS and will likely pick up anyway, eventually, Just wish ASMUS had done more eye work, or whatever needed to be done to get the likeness more in line. Almost reminds me of an Asian influence in the face which also happened with Arwen. To me still looks more like John Malkovich.

I was already going to get this so didn't need convincing. Now that Legolas is out I gotta re buy Aragorn and thankfully I still have Gimli and never sold him (mostly because no one wanted him. Lol) now I have to re buy Crown Gandalf and hope they release some hobbits again.

Hi collector friends!

I just wanted to share this recent picture that I have found in Instagram. The photo has not been taken with the best light, but It seems realistic and allows us to see the final result of this Legolas 2.0. In my opinion the figure looks fantastic (despite some possible improvements mentioned before), so I'm going to get it.

I hope It helps you to decide! 😉
