Re: Zack Snyder's Justice League coming in 2021

I?ll always find it a shame that people were more hyped for iron and cap fight than batman v Superman fight. Two b listers vs two of the most popular heroes ever.

The whole concept of "Batman v Superman" was a hard sell. We fanpersons get it, but the casual fans (i.e. most of the moviegoing public) probably wondered, why would Batman and Superman fight? It may have come off as a gimmicky Aliens v Predator type deal.

Zack Snyder's Justice League coming in 2021

Speaking of trailer park GvK trailer got 61 million views lets see if the SCJL trailer can catch up it?s at 16 million

:chase

From what I can see Falcon and WS got 9.9 million views and Snyders JL got 17million....

Some more tidbits:

https://www.comicbookmovie.com/just...ind-press-and-cruel-critics-a182530#gs.tsc2cs

In a recent interview with LightCast, Zack Snyder's Justice League producer Deborah Snyder tackled the subject of "unkind press" ahead of the movie's release, and spoke openly about how the constant barrage of negativity feels.

"We?ve had our share of unkind press. I think [Batman v Superman] is the perfect example. 'It?s too dark.' Too dark compared to what? I think that some of the reactions were ?It?s not funny enough. It?s not the movie I expected it to be.? And you?re [saying], ?Is that the movie?s fault or is that your fault for having a preconceived notion of what it should be?? It was kind of interesting to read that."

Snyder also shared her take on how critics sometimes conduct themselves in reviews.

"Sometimes I feel, not just about our movies, but in general, the reviewers are cruel, and there?s people behind it that spend a lot of time, whether you like it or not. And you don?t have to like it, but sometimes it gets very personal, and it gets mean. You can say what you think without being mean or cruel."

https://www.comicbookmovie.com/just...ng-reshoots-actually-lasted-a182526#gs.tsc5f3

During a recent interview on the LightCast podcast, producer Deborah Snyder confirmed that they shot "literally one scene," and it it took only three days last October in order to complete it.

"People kept thinking 'Oh, they went and shot so much more stuff.' And I go 'We literally shot one scene, like one additional scene. I shot three days here. That?s it. That?s what we captured.'"

https://www.comicbookmovie.com/just...e-version-of-the-snyder-cut-a182523#gs.tsc6y2

Whether it will happen remains to be seen, but during a recent interview with I Minutemen, the popular filmmaker revealed the title of his colourless version of the DC Comics adaptation. "We're finishing right now the black and white version of Justice League," Snyder confirmed. "It's called the Justice Is Gray Edition. That's what I call it."

"It's interesting also, too, because like, you know, the black suit. Because you can say, in modern Krypton, when he left...everyone was wearing black suits, mostly, you know? So it is sort of linked to...in some ways, to the old world. I think it's a more direct relationship to his family."

https://www.comicbookmovie.com/just...lack-suit-in-the-snyder-cut-a182529#gs.tsc4tx

"The blue suit is his 'Suit of a Hero,'" Snyder continued. "The 'Suit of His Destiny.' Where like, the black suit is his more personal in a lot of ways." The black suit is "more about his family" in the filmmaker's eyes, and he added: One is outward and one is inward. And I think that those things [are] the expression of that. Let's put it this way...it was always my intention that the larger arc of the movies was to realize that more completely. But I think you get a sense of it here."

Clearly, the director has given the addition of the black suit a lot of thought, so we'll ho

Nice share. They are completely right. The media attacked personally and ruthlessly for no reason.

Also the ?too dark? remark is the dumbest thing I ever heard. TDK trilogy was just as dark, Infinity War while with jokes was extremely dark...

"Most" fans wanted a more traditional movie with the characters represented as to what they know and admire and enjoy. JL's (and BvS) failure already proved that. His Snyder cut is not gonna turn those who disliked the theatrical JL into new fans. It's even darker than what we got.

This is the crux of it. They wanted a happy superman and a happier batman. (Personally I would have liked the animated series first meeting of the two)

But I really think it was simply the writing. If the script was better people would have bought into a killing Batman or a sad superman.

Re: Zack Snyder's Justice League coming in 2021

Really interesting comparison of footage from the Snyder cut trailers vs clips from the 2017 film and trailers.

They forgot to show Joker and the pug side by side, lol.

Actually, I think 2021 Steppenwolf's resemblance to the pug is uncanny. :lol

No it?s not a hard sell. People have wanted to see Superman and Batman on the screen for years. Avengers should be a hard sell but it wasn?t

It just seems like David Goyer writing just never quite hits correctly. But Snyder had a lot of choices on his end as well. Both Batman and Superman just went too far and I would've liked to have seen some more buddy cop kind of moments like the animated series gave us.

Re: Zack Snyder's Justice League coming in 2021

Batman v Superman would have worked if it was just Batman vs Superman. No dawn of justice or bigger threat or non of that crap. Just Batman and Superman fighting . No crappy doomsday, no horrible rendition of lex, no JL set up and no death of Superman . You can squeeze Wonder Woman in but the movie should have been just a straight up hero brawl. Again the cartoons did it so much better.

Some detective work from both ends and it obviously leads to Luthor. I really liked the rumor/wishlist of Denzel as Luthor. I think he would've been incredible in that role.

Re: Zack Snyder's Justice League coming in 2021

The SC cgi is pretty out dated by todays standards but it was unique and ground breaking during the 300 Sin City era

I?m still excited to watch it though because at the end of the day I am still a kid inside lol

While the warehouse scene is really good it can?t compete with the fight scenes from TWS

TWS still has the best action in all of the MCU and it is probably the best action ever put on film since the 80?s even better than CW which was no slouch either

I put the warehouse scene up there with CW actually

TWS pace and choreography are at a whole other level

Ok here it comes jye hates the warehouse scene lol

Exactly. The fight under the bridge might be one of the best fight scenes in film history.

It?s amazing.

Bryan Cranston would have been cool to. Idk what the hell they were thinking with the casting.

It's the "versus" that was the hard sell. Batman fighting Superman seems counterintuitive to the masses.

A buddy of mine, in his 40s, knew about the characters, not deeply, but wanted to see the movies. He simply just didn't like two good guys fighting each other instead of fighting the bad guys.

That's why Cap vs IM worked so much better, because the MCU made them friends before they became enemies, you know, like The Dark Knight Returns story that Snyder borrowed heavily from when he made BVS. The story of two old buddies that have grown apart and have personal or political differences after decades of friendship in canon stories is way more compelling than a guy that hates the alien that saved the world because he's paranoid and an alien that hates batman because he uses excessive violence, as opposed to breaking necks? That was well planned. :lol But hey, their mom's have the same name, so it's cool for Bats to continue hurting people and Sups to be...an alien.

Re: Zack Snyder's Justice League coming in 2021

I honestly thought that movie was built up over time. People always argued who could win. But yea maybe the vs wasn?t a good idea. Would have been better if it was called worlds finest or something. Or Superman meets Batman.

I remember the reveal for the title and everyone was so hyped . That title reveal was amazing . That?s all it needed to be was a Superman and Batman movie. Then that trailer came in with lex luthor and doomsday and my hype died

You must have missed the part where Bruce was redeemed by saving his surrogate Martha and stopped petty-crime-fighting in favour of saving the world.

Re: Zack Snyder's Justice League coming in 2021

I hope his gamble to release this in IMAX ratio pays off because TVs at home are not Imax shaped screens and to make matters more confusing he didn?t even film with an Imax camera he mimicked the Imax ratio on a regular camera.....ummmm yeah

But even if it is released theatrically on an Imax screen it won’t have the same benefits had he used an IMAX camera like Nolan did

Great I have to sit thru a 4 hour TikTok video now lol
