Vinyl conditioner on older pleather?

Just wondering if anyone's had any experience using vinyl conditioner on old pleather outfits to prevent flaking. I know a lot of older Medicom and SS figures flake after awhile and having a ANH Vader suit for me ROTJ Vader I'd like to try and prevent it.

Your best bet is spray a clear top coat on both sides of the pleather.

Heat & Humid will degrade the adhesive keeping both layers in tact, and the top layer to melt causing the crack & flake.

Was actually reading somewhere that baby oil helps keeps vinyl from breaking down faster. Anyone ever use it in their figures?
