This line is dead. There's very few people who will pay $200 for 1:6 DC Comics dolls of anyone but the Big 3 and if Wonder Woman goes the route of these two bloopers, SS will replace that year's free calendar with one of her.

I'd pay that for Flash, Green Arrow and Green Lantern. Maybe even a cyborg.
This seems to follow the normal ebb and flow of a release. The initial excitement, months of speculation, a few crappy reviews, acting like Sideshow is personally offending customers, happiness when the figure is in hand.

Ya the bodies are definitely different, Batman is quite a bit bigger. But, at the same time, the Batman figure doesn't look great in this pic either, and considering how good he is in hand, I'm still holding hope...

the picture is kinda crap....

but then, batman looks pretty bad there, and i like how he looks in hand....

i also like the idea that superman is physically smaller than batman, but is actually stronger because of mutated magic sun powers.

i'll see what i think when he is in hand.

Best reply I've read in this thread since... Well a very long time!:clap

That's not true though, when Batman pics and reviews started to come out, nobody was nearly this pessimistic, everybody was like "hey, that looks pretty good" and just a few people didn't like him, with Superman it was the other way around, a few people liked him, and everybody else was complaining.

And Batman was never the center of harsh body criticisms like Superman was, not even close I also don't think Batman experienced the amount of cancellations Supes did, considering that we're a few away weeks (or days idk) from this being shipped, and the exclusive it's still available.

Yea, early on Bats looked awful. But in hand, my favorite figure from last year.

I don't expect that big of a turnaround for Supes, but a bit better...

I'm not sure those production heads (or that belt) can be fixed, though. Not without extensive (and costly) customization of replacements.

And that IS the rub when they're asking $200+ for a figure.

I agree that sups took a hit because they didn't make him muscular enough. But it's no reason to scrap the line.

I don't think they will end the line because they messed up Superman. The exclusive was Sold Out before people saw how ugly it is. Sideshow's fault.

The line is definitely not dead. All of the figures from this line have been successful up until Superman.... and since no one actually has him yet, there is the remote possibility that he will end up being liked as well...

They WILL NOT scrap the line, SSC has been chasing this license for years. I remember chats (back when we used to have SSC chats) in 2006, 2007 when people would ask for the DC License and the reply was that they were actively trying.

They just need to dial it down on the head sizes.

Which is kind of funny given I remember that being early critiques of many lines.

Wonder Woman should be done in a classic costume. Any of them from 80's-early 2000's. Ignore the new costumes this will hurt sales tremendously because the costume is iconic. A real lasso one for hook on belt. And one with wire for posing. The face sculpt is crucial because it can't be masculine. As far as weapons outside of lasso they need to make her shield, double sided ax and Grecian sword.

She will be. They mentioned that both it will be classic as SSC want to do "classic" first and then interpret but also they mentioned needing a new body for WW, which means she'll be exposed most likely. They could have pulled off the New 52 version no problem with what they have now. I imagine Wonder Woman will be the one people are clammering for a while as the line has slowed down and so they need to get out what they can to continue the line before R&Ding more upcoming stuff.

Yep! People want WW, then people will see WW..... And the complaining will start...
Straight hair, curly hair, tights, no tights, big chest, too big chest, muscular, too muscular... Well, SSF everyday life it seems! :lol

This line is not dead, but I am sorry, Superman is definitely getting more criticism. Exclusive was waitlisted at one point. Now up for sale again. The body is not ideal for this character. Pictures are all that we have to go on at this point. It was the same for Drake and I cancelled that as fast as I could. No regrets about cancelling. Prices are too high now to accept mediocrity. Maybe the next one will be better. Batman looks like he is on steroids. Heads look too big on Superman.

Vote with wallets is usually the best strategy. If SSC has Superman rotting on the shelves then they know it was a misstep. I've read issues with Catwoman's body, Harley's body, and the PFs seem to be littered with issues too. When fans start voicing disapprovals with cancellations and returns then SSC will see that something has to change but them just taking both GL and Flash back to retool has me hopeful for future releases. I think Superman was just past the point of no return and at this point they'll take it on the chin.

After the sorry Superman figure, all I want from them is a Lobo figure. After that, they can kill the line or whatever.

I wanted Batman (got 2), Superman (will see the final results of the hopeful, positive members that think a little futz will make this look great, but most likely not), and Lobo (If they f this up, if they end up doing it, i will forever forget the Sideshow name)

I think the body problems for the females is a material issue. The black resin used is alittle on the brittle side. When I handle these bodies black material just comes off. This could be due to poor formulation to old product which is manufacturing problem. And quality control specialist at factory should have caught that. So Shame on him/her. It also could be that the black resin can't hold up to being made to thin. Making it buckle under preasure. So this was sideshow's 1st female updated body. I'm sure this year those bugs will be worked out.

However to save face sideshow should offer a 40% off gift card for people who purchased Catwoman or Harley. As a sorry. Good thing playtoy 2 is a good replacement model body for these.

If I were a betting man.

Actually Sideshow is already dead to me. I won't buy another 1:6 figure they produce. Fool me once SHAME on you, fool me with your prototype consistently Happy GFY Sideshow.

What made you take that decision?

Groovy, thanks for the info on the playtoy bodies... i wonder if i can swap the arms from the V2 to the V1... kinda like the idea of catwoman being more curvy. Would give her a little more of an adam hughes vibe. AND i've got a playtoy V1 just sitting around at the moment....

Superman might end up getting canceled, as i doubt i'll have any trouble pickg him up on the aftermarket later. Running low on funds this month, and might need to cancel something.

You could do that I did it for barroness giving her a jlo booty. Check out Harley's page on here I posted pics of her on a a playtoy 2.0
