The Grandmaster - 6.5/10

Enjoyed this mostly on an aesthetic level, felt much of the story was not fleshed out enough, and Zhang Zi Yi's role felt unnecessary.

Beautiful to look at though, wish I was as good a cinematographer.

I used to love this as a kid, but I think if I'd rewatch it again at my age it would not do so well for me.

You know dirty jokes are funnier when you're a kid.

I used to own it on VHS many moons ago..

I only remember bits & pieces now, but one that never leaves me, is the scene where he's suckling on the woman's breast. I just forget what happens before that.

Yeah, the designs and ape-makeup are pretty good, but that's all. An unnecessary remake.

Been on an Apes binge. I have never gotten past Beneath before on the original series. I was actually really impresses what they achieved with next to no budget on the sequels. The ideas in the films are what's important. Conquest was badass! Especially the unedited ending. Very psyched for Dawn
