With the news that this is coming out,

https://www.caltekonline.com/cof017b.asp

I am thinking about creating a Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes. I am a big fan of Brett as Holmes and thought this would be a fun project.

I know the outfit isn't 100% accurate but, I think it could work. I am contacting Steve at Stevo's Toys to see is we can get a Sherlock Holmes top hat. I have found some pipes that would work and a cane but I can't find a magnifying glass. Has anyone purchased one? Anyone here recently made one?

Didn't Figuremaster Les do one? Check his web page or PM him for info.
Mike

I'm not into the whole customization thing, but I would love to pick up a Jeremy Brett Holmes at some point. Rainman actually had that up as an option for a future project.

I've sculpted these heads if you are interested...

EDIT: I'll be using Sideshow's Lincoln hat on mine. I've tried it and it works perfectly! :D

WOW! Never seen Brett or Hardwicke sculpts before. Very very nice indeed. The Hardwicke is especially excellent
I've sculpted Brett numerous time myself and he's rather fiddly to get right I can tell you
I shall be watching this with interest
Although I can't offer any casts (If ever anyone wanted one that is) Here is my most recent effort.

My Brett is based on the sort of, mid-season look he had during "The Return-" episodes like The Devil's Foot and The Bruce Partington Plans where he had an almost crew-cut hairstyle which always caught my eye.

Love him Tombaker! Likeness is spot on! You even got the wrinkles right which is something really hard to do! Congrats!

I'm interested in both 16k

I can sell you both for $50, shipping included if you're interested Tekkaman. However I can't offer painting options, I'm sorry, I don't have enough time. However, I'm sure you'l find a lot of people ready to paint them! PM me if you're still interested! :D

On a side note, to make your SH more accurate, you'll notice he often uses pin-striped pants. Here's the ones I'll be using:

https://cgi.ebay.com/Pin-Stripe-Sui...nFigures_ActionFigures_JN&hash=item53dfb12313

I've ordered them and shipping is fast and quality rather good.

For the shoes, I've bought thse from Toysity:

https://www.toysity.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=68_83&products_id=830019

Haven't tried them on a fig yet, but they look awesome in hand! :D

I am interested as well 16K, in both headsculpts.

What do you guys think about the vitcorian coat in my first post in this thread? I think it looks good but the more I look at it, those lapels are really standing out.

Cool Hirogen! :D PM me if you want them!

I like the suit but there are many things that need to be reworked. Plus this edition will be limited and honestly, I don't see myself parting it out. However, I think it can be used to make a pattern! Probably what I'll do! :D

Oh I'm more than capable of painting them myself. Pm Sent

Hey 16K, I'm also interested. I have no problems painting them myself! I've loved the Brett Holmes stories since I first saw them on Mystery back when they first aired back in the 80s and I would love to have a custom of him an Watson.

I'm not in love with the Dracula suit for Holmes, although I probably will get it because I saw that film an embarrassing number of times when it came out. For Holmes, I think a much better match would be one of the Sideshow frock coats from their Western figures if you can get your hands on one of those. If anyone needs another source for the pin-striped trousers, they are from the Doctor Who Dalek Sec figure which I know can be had for pretty cheap.

If you don't want to do that, you could go the nightshirt and dressing gown route (well, ok, probably not) or instead of worrying about the frock coat, didn't he sometimes wear a gray jacket over his usual trousers and waistcoat? That probably wouldn't be too hard to put together.

Hi Duck of Death (love that name! Really loved that pun in Unforgiven!) :D

The st for the heads is $50. Shipping worldwide is included, so if you are interested, you can paypal me the sum at:

Molds are ready and I will cast some this WE. I'll ship them Wednesday.

The Wyatt Earp jacket is perfact, although I was always surprised it had no pockets. That's the one I used as a template when I made this (plus some internet info).

So I think I'll go the same way here.

Another thing now: Anyone knows a tutorial that explains how to tie a bowtie like that?

As for the pipe, Hirogen, I don't think it's the best choice. If you want to use an existing pipe, I think Hans Landa's the best one, though I'd like to go this way:

That's the one he uses most often in the series...

EDIT:

I'm no smoker, but apparently it's called a Petersen pipe...

I'm a big fan of the series so it was a nice suprise to check the customs thread and see these.

Any plans to do an Eric Porter? ( Moriarty )

Hadn't thought about that... why not? he has very strong features so it shouldn't be to difficult! Actually, I was thinking (but it's just a project and would come only after my current project: The Mentalist) about a David Burke (the other Watson) but now that you suggest it, Moriarty could indeed be a better choice! :D

I would love to get that Wyatt Earp jacket but those figures are going for way too much. I was going to buy that Victorian suit but now I am not so sure.

If anyone has a Earp jacket like that they want to sell, let me know.

The pipe isn't perfect but I wanted to go for accuracy and the pipe Han Landa uses (calabash) is not accurate to Holmes. Sidney Paget, the illustrator to the Holmes stories normally depicted Holmes smoking the churchwarden, the one you referenced. Although now looking at it, some Peterson's look like the churchwarden too. So now I am not so sure.

Here is a churchwarden on amazon,

I'm no pipe expert either.

Here is a pic of Jeremy Brett smoking a pipe similar to the one I linked to on ebay.

True, nice to see the interest! :D

The more Brainstorming, the better! :D

So Churchwarden huh? Shouldnt be too difficult to make one with putty or Sculpey. The only trouble would be the strenthening of the shaft. I'll try it...
