Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Love that the old Bonds are still getting some love here. Great work Mr. Fusion.

Invigorated by SKYFALL, I'm fast at work on 3 custom Bond VILLAIN projects -- alas for you younglings they are all from olden times. They will be revealed in the coming weeks and months. Even if they fail -- since I'm eyeballing this stuff to imagine how it will come together. Hopefully reality will be fair.

I still don't have a Craig in my collection but would like one very much IF I can get Le Chiffre OR Silva bashed as well.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I have this...anyone know how much it's worth?

Thanks!

I look forward to seeing your Bond villains. I am so jealous of your Goldfinger.

Le Chiffre and Silva are a must. Isn't there a Javier Bardem from No Country for Old Men floating around somewhere? That might be adapted.

The custom would be expensive. I couldn't find the bootleg anywhere but it could work, but you'd have to remove the hair and that would be a complex job. I imagine someone will offer a sculpt.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

If he does 5 that will be quite the run. Even though QoS may be weak in alot of people opinion I think Craig has had an awesome Bond run and hope he only stays as long as the movies are up to calibre.

Quantum was bad by comparison to the other two but look at something like living daylights, view to a kill or moonraker and how can anyone say it was bad. Peter Travers rated it the worst Bond of all time, that was just a motion to be pretentious. Obviously it;s not a great movie but the worst one? hardly.

Exactly, If QoS hadn't followed CR, it would have still been lauded as a top Bond film. Instead of taking it on its own merits, it just got floored by CR comparisons.

Quantum is my 3rd favorite film behind Skyfall and Casino. I love it.

The longest and most expensive Bond shoot to make the shortest film.
Little to no storyline and views like a rapid fire video clip for an hour and a half. So much happens so quickly that its great for repeat viewings.
I realize they didn't intend a lot of it at the beginning and there was the writers strike, injuries and set problems that contrinbuted to the end result but it views like the an experimental cinema project and will be the only time we ever see a Bond movie stray that far from the standard formula.

The traditional answer will always be to say Connery is the best and FRwL/GF/TB are the best but personally I think Craig's 3 efforts so far stand stand miles ahead of everythinge else in the 50yr history of the franchise.

My 2 cents.... :D

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

With Skyfall still on mt kind, I'm in a Bond mood and been working on some new additions to my figures of Bond past.

Here's what I've got in the works, just taking shape now...

Agent "bone" what? Thats pretty funny. Overall not a bad figure

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Yeah, I suspect a few DC fans will be happy. At least the weapons will be easier to get hold of now.

Thanks! I know these are kind of "retro" in both film tastes and in figure style -- certainly not HT quality, but none of my Sidesow Bonds are so I have to make things that fit together.

Red Grant is just the old Hessler figure I finally managed to get hold of; it's been used for Grant many times around here. Got some grey gloves and a TTL suit and there ya go. The detail work is where i will have the most fun. Repaint the head, dye the suit, make the little details so the figure really pops.

I got a new jacket for Jaws (only an upgrade) and Stromberg is a work in progress, looking awkward and gangly on that body right now... but all the parts work beautifully in hand. It was a figure I've wanted for many years to go with Jaws but I could never find a head. Finally managed to find one that could work with some serious overhauling.

Anyway, better versions to come... this was just a tease...

I have some others in the works too. Of course, I always do.

I really like your Robert Shaw as well. What a shame we didn't get more of the Connery era villains. I miss not having Red Grant, Goldfinger, Largo and Blofield (from YOLT).

It's funny, I still have the announcement somewhere, but at one time after the Moonraker Moore figure Sideshow said it was going to produce Red Grant, Auric Goldfinger, Emilio Largo AND Blofeld (Pleasance version). I shot thru the roof when that was mentioned. And died a little for many months after waiting for figures that never came.

I actually went ahead years ago and made them myself -- my Holy Trinity of Bond Villains. They're way buried in this thread now.
