Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Creasy, you may not think it looks like Brosnan. Good for you. Don't insult other members and call them blind for having a different opinion.

I don't think it's a perfect Brosnan likeness, but I do see the artistry and a good likeness in the sculpt. And Pete's paint work is very fine.

Fair point, apologies if I offended anyone

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I see things have gone a little quiet regarding the Eleven Craig. You'd think they'd want to be getting it out there in order to capitalize on SPECTRE. BTW I really like that Inigou Brosnan. If I didn't want a Craig so much I might have been tempted by one.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Kit Chen has already announced he'll be selling it, so now it's just waiting until he (and others possibly) list it for sale. There are other things Eleven is working on that may be ahead of this one, but the fact it's confirmed means interested parties can rest easy.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Yeah, you're right, just a case of finding other things with which to fill the time. Having a headless Bond standing waiting hasn't helped much though, LOL!

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Me and my luck. I decided to go ahead some time ago and purchased one of the Skyfall tuxedos by Yunsil, without having at that time a good Craig headsculpt to put on it. Now that finally it looks like we're going to have an affordable and quite good alternative for the head, turns out that my package has been either lost in transit or grabbed by the guys at customs (Shortround is trying to help me locate it) so I could end with a sculpt but no suit :panic:

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I have asked Chen, will be Craig sculpt alviable this year.He answered:"No idea".
So-we can just wait.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

All my Bond gear is sourced from the Dr No Connery, except the shirt and bow tie, I forget where I got them from.

Well, "this year" ends in little over two months. Maybe for January.

I myself have a Craig Skyfall suit and gear, but a still unpainted bbkill sculpt. Be nice to have an inexpensive alternative to finish this one up, as I might save the bbkill head for a Spectre figure.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

:lol yeah

I've only just finished my skyfall Craig and now a potentially better head has come along :lol

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I do have some Craig sculpts actually. I have an old one that Reggie did, which is glued to a DML neck so I don't think I could rework it easily, then there's Imaresq's, an unpainted first edition BBKill, the Roadshow head and the TTL Feng copy. None of them is really decent enough to go on the figure as he stands now. Hopefully the Eleven sculpt will finally fill the gap.

And please, do NOT ever count on Modern Life, she is leading everyone a merry dance, full of empty promises, don't get hooked in!

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

The Imaresq sculpt is the oversized one, right? Have you ever tried shrinking it?

As for the one glued on, if it's superglue, use a paintbrush and some nail polish remover without acetone to the seam. Works miracles!:)

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Thanks mate! Hugh grant hmm? Not seeing it myself! But always interested to hear other people's take

Don't get me wrong. It's a stellar Brosnan likeness. I think the issue is in my mind's eye, Brosnan Bond has a heavier face and a different hairstyle. Goldeneye was my favorite Bond movie as a kid and it's still my favorite Brosnan outing but I like his look in the sequels more. So the hairstyle and the expression (namely the positioning of the eyebrows) are giving me a weird vibe. If that makes sense.

I may have missed it but what suit do you plan on using? A suit, tux, or his action gear? My dad still has the DAD and Goldeneye versions from SSC. I liked all of their Bond offerings even if they're extremely dated by today's standards. The Brosnans were my favorite of the collection.

When is someone going to make a great Dalton?

Size aside, it's still a nice sculpt and one to use for paint practice, should I need to paint one that is. Salvaging Reggie's could be done for the same reasons I suppose so the tip could come in handy, so thanks for that.

Agreed, goldeneye is my favourite of his films but I think he looks the most bond in Tomorrow Never Dies
I know what you mean about the eyebrows, inigou went for the squinty Brosnan look, and if you look at stills of him from the film you can see the eyebrows are quite accurate. But I think that's quite hard to capture in a sculpt. I will post in hand pictures of my Brosnan when I get it.

I have a toys city suit from a couple of years ago, I am going to use that. It's navy blue. It's the same suit as what yunsil is making. Id love to be able to afford the yunsil suit but I just can't. I'm luckily getting a yunsil tie, however. I'm going to have him with the AK rifle.

I wish I had multiple heads and could afford to make more than one Brosnan, because I'd love a figure in his black uniform from the beginning of the film or the action uniform at the end, but I think with bond if you can only make one it has to be a suit!

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Sounds like we all have a lot of headless Craigs in our collection. Lol

I'm actually using the Roadshow one. It's certainly not perfect by any stretch, but it does portray a more youthful, less wrinkly DC (so more like Casino Royale than Skyfall). Also, since I haven't changed the heads on my Sideshow Bonds, he fits in perfectly as they all have a slightly cartoony look to them. My concern was if I was to get a more realistic DC, then I'd have to go out and find/pay for much better sculpts for everyone else. I'm not a customizer, so I can't cast or paint my own sculpts, and buying them can get super costly considering all the other great figures out there to buy.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I too have bought many years ago the Roadshow hs to make a Quantum of Solace version.
Recently I bought the MG Toys Mens Deep Blue Tuxedo Suits B,
as I wanted to make my 1st figure wearing a tux and Bond was the perfect candidate.
I have ordered also a ppk gun and if Kit releases their hs I will definitely buy it, as imo it is an exceptional one.
