You can never tell with these things.:dunno

If I were to GUESS, I would say they they start out high, level off a bit, maybe go down in price for awhile, and then start appreciating again in the future do to "Rarity".

The bottom line is what is the set worth to you?:wink1:

That's true that the price will go up in the future. I took hard lesson with Guardian. It's my first predator and I had no idea about price was too high and I ought it coz I though it would only go up. Look at the price now. But, I know it will be more expensive in the future.

As for scarecrow set, there was only TOnyCheung guy sold it for $999. No one bought it now he is selling the set at $600 and I don't see any buyer as well. Now look at ebay, more sellers are selling it. Well, I say 4000 pieces not really that rare. There are only couple hundreds freaks here so once all scalpers start selling this set the price will be much lower.

When all sold out then when Scar, Celtic, Chopper scenarios kicks in :)

If you have the money and the figure worth more to u then go ahead and buy the set. :)

So is it safe to say that the prices for these on ebay are not getting any lower? I really want this set but I'm afraid if I pull the trigger they are gonna start going for cheaper.

There are 6 sets on ebay right now...when more ppl start scalpin, prices fall. Like everybody said, usually works this way:

1. super high price right before release due to hype
2. level off when ppl get em in hand
3. then when supplies drop off, prices go up.

How long stage 2 lasts for is dependent on # of sellers/buyers/pieces/etc.

Concise and clear :)

Based on what I've read in the Beat It thread, there haven't been many people coming to the Hot Toys Expo to begin with (restricted access?). I figure more of these will come available, and price will start dropping a bit, once they are released at Toy Hunters or wherever.

I used to be proud to have exclusive item But now for some reason turning me down....

Looks like attendance-wise the HT show may have been a bust (according to Eddie Wong).

Well, the Hot Toys 10th Anniversary Event has come and gone and I'm not so sure if I could say it was a success. This is mainly because the amount of attendance seemed a bit low (I went yesterday. Dunno what it was like today). As mentioned, I arrived yesterday at close to 3pm and was still able to get the exclusive figures (HT has 2,000 of Bats and MJ for the 2 day event). This could possibly be due to the fact that yesterday was Xmas day. Still, we gotta remember, figure collecting is still a pretty niche thing especially considering each figure costs upwards of ¥20,000 here.

HT may have a tough time getting rid of their 4000 pieces. Don't fall for these retarded prices. Something has to give soon.

Eat that you piss of .. exclusive lol.. You need collectors in America as well right!!!

You could tell in all of the pictures and videos, the show floor was super empty...thought the photographers were just waiting for ppl to clear out before taking pics lol.

yeah really. And there's not much to take pics of that we haven't really seen. I'm trying to tally up the stuff that's totally new. Thor. The Mark V (even though we saw the proto sculpt pic). Don't even know what else. Maybe they'll come down, but even then 400 seems too steep for this pair to me. Scarecrow, going off the going rate for Two Face and other boring suited characters with little accessories is worth less than $150 to me. Demon Batman is kind of a senseless variant. MAYBE 200 tops for him. Everything is relative. I could get a few more t-1000s at the price that come with a ton of stuff

I can see Sideshow importing a small number of Michael Jackson: Beat It for SDCC. Yes its really far away but definitely still a possibility. Batman/Scarecrow? If they go the exclusive route to import them I can see DC giving those rights to a company like Graphitti Designs who has dealt with their exclusives before.

Which is what I am afraid of. Graphitti has no clue on how to handle exclusives properly. Raffle draw? Pffft. Plus DCD/Graphitti go to and have more con exclusives than SDCC. So it would probably NYCC where they offer these if that is the route they go with.

where are the in hand pictures ?:impatient:

People would have to be able to buy these to have them in hand :duh

Actually I could see Graphitti Designs doing like they've done with the recent exclusives where they divide the exclusives through all shows so that means that at SDCC or NYCC or even Wondercon they'd bring only a handful and raffle off the opportunity to buy which means prices would be outlandish on eBay.

I think it was more of, we sold out of these crazy fast, lets make more for the next show rather than them being divided up for each show. If that is the case, perhaps DCD could get the edition size of these up'd? Of course the simplist method would just be to allow Sideshow to do all of these anniversary exclusives for the US. Sideshow knows what they are doing and anyone else would just screw it up. Even SDCC can't handle selling their badges anymore.

If Graffiti had these for C2E2 like they had the Blackest Night figures, I'd be excited to try for a set.

Scarecrow is looking good, but why has Batman gone from the Freddy Kruger-esque demon, to looking like a crying concrete gargoyle? Do not want

but the set is already out in japan:dunno
