You see this is why a-dev is such a key component to this entire PT vs ST debate

a-dev hates the ST.

Yet nothing but respect for a-dev comes from ST supporters like me, Khev, JAWS and even *ajp who prefers Rian ST direction over JJ ST.

Why the respect.

Because while a-dev may hate the ST with all of his heart he is NOT on youtube right now like the doomcock army going absolutely bonkers over the return of HC.

There are doomcockers crying and balling right now on youtube over HC return they are literally saying that the heart and soul of SW has returned and that ONLY Filoni should be allowed to write his story they are now calling for the removal of JF LOL

Look I have no problem with HC i’m sure under different creators and handlers he will be a different person plus it’s been 15 years people understand their life purpose more with clearer vision and grow as time passes BUT is he really the heart and soul of SW not Vader but specifically HC Vader.

Sheesh lets see lol

My real curiosity comes from the context Anakin will be used for.

Is this just about swinging lightsabers.

Is this just Anakin Ashoka porn

Is this in service of the chosen one narrative.

Is this in service of relationship building between Anakin and ObiWan.

Is this in service of building up the force lore.

Help us understand better a-dev lol

* I really don’t know if ajp respects a-dev or not but I needed more support for my argument besides i’m sure he does lol

Thanks man. I don't know how merited your respect is - all I do is take the easy route with the whole PT VS ST thing, the path of least resistance - if in doubt just dismiss it all :lol My increasingly lazy mind rarely wants to put much effort into the debating that goes on here in these threads unfortunately. Oftentimes I start typing but then I just trail off, leave it open in another tab and forget about it till it becomes moot, the thread having moved on.

You guys are acting like Hayden has only ever been in three movies that include the words Star and Wars. I've seen that turkey in other movies, and the guy can't act. I don't think if he was in a movie jointly directed by Fincher, Nolan, & Villeneuve you'd get anything better than him in Jumper.

Maybe they'll David Prowse him and have his dialog dubbed by James Earl Jones...

This would definitely make for a sweet live-action flashback:

Hell just seeing Phase I Clones in practical suits would be awesome in and of itself.

I agree that flashbacks could be incredibly cool. Lots of potential for great character building. But all of the interviews and teases so far seem to suggest that Anakin and Kenobi will square off between ROTS and ANH. I know this is gonna seem like a major overreaction, but if they do that I'm probably gonna pack it in and go back to regarding the OT as the only Star Wars for me.

My eyes roll and I curse under my breath when Lando gets retconned into a droid-loving "eccentric." But I ignore it and move on. I get annoyed by Boba Fett doing teamups and following an honor code. But I can adjust to it and learn to accept it. Where I draw the line is at changing context from ANH as dramatically as an Anakin/Kenobi confrontation in this series would do.

I can already hear the fan assertions that there wasn't anything in ANH that specified they hadn't met since Anakin turned. Nope, sorry. To me, dialogue like this isn't ambiguous:

"I've been waiting for you Obi-Wan. We meet again at last. The circle is now complete. When I left you, I was but the learner. Now I am the master."

Before that, Tarkin even asserted that Kenobi must be dead by now. I guess Vader was thinking to himself, "No, I faced off against him a few years ago." :slap

At least I know they won't duel on Tatooine (where son Luke is!) thanks to Anakin's feelings about sand. :rolleyes2

Well maybe they'll use the new duel as an excuse to retcon one of Obi-Wan's more famous lies (thanks to ROTS.)

Vader and Obi-Wan meet on some random world and duel, Obi-Wan wins

Vader: "You win this round Obi-Wan, I see that I am still the learner! The next time we meet that will not be the case! By the way will you give my lightsaber to Luke when he's old enough? K thanks, bye!"

For some reason I particularly liked the bit in bold :lol Maybe it's reminiscent of the time he used words like ''From my point of view the jedi are evil....'' as a piece of verbal sparring during high-intensity personal combat.

Now, you would have to adjust your dialogue regarding Luke to him speaking hypothetically - because remember, he assumes the child Padme was carrying died with her.

And Owen Lars has to pop his head into the scene at some point to express a general disapproval at the proceedings.

This is the best. Uncle Owen really was a d*ck wasn't he? :)

Holy **** I read the articles on this and it sounds absolutely freakin amazing! Like holy crap! This is gonna be my favorite Star Wars content...

As long as the content is mostly consistent with dialogue and events of the film, at least significant ones, do what they want, though I hope that Hayden's presence is more cameo than anything, I'd like to see heavy focus on Obi-Wan himself. Mando has other characters and development of them, but we're almost always focusing on Mando, most scenes have him there, etc.

Showing a flashback scene with Hayden and baby Grogu would be huge. Maybe have the person that flees with him cross paths with Anakin after Anakin killed the other younglings. Anakin looks at the baby and then like Kylo refusing to kill his mother Anakin lowers his saber and allows them to flee.

Oh I'm sure there will be connections between series, especially if it gives a chance to drop Grogu into another show, and probably in a Jedi outfit to get more merchandise sales.

I thought this was the Obi Show....

Now it?s the Vader show?
