I know I was a little late with ordering, so I'm likely in the second batch. But I'm thinking, if the bulk of those orders were standards, and I made my choice to go with rooted hair, then perhaps my order might have made the cut?
Wishful thinking.

Though a part of me doesn't mind being in the second batch. If QC issues arise, that may give them the chance to smoothen things out.

Slowly... FOMO is setting in...

Exactly!

I'm interested in the sculpt as well, It's too good to pass up honestly. But seeing his post did make me skeptical. That size was already on point.

People got sold on what he had shown. I hope he's careful and considerate with any changes or tinkering. I don't think it's needed. Also, I hope he keeps everyone in the loop before he's committed to those changes and everything is shipped out.

Update: He's assured me he's tested it carefully, and the size difference is hardly noticeable. Fingers crossed for the best.
That's great news Scout, thanks for following this up bro :)
He got back to me as well this morning and assured the same. I just hope he doesn't change anything on that sculpt/expression. It's perfect as is.

Also, over the past weekend Topo contacted me and asked if I could search anything on the screen used scarf, hand wraps and those rifle/binoculars straps too. He will be including all of those in his set now. Cool!

And sorry for posting this here but he just posted this earlier today.

I think that button at the upper chest looks too big.

I'll just wait and cross my fingers for an Inart Knightmare Batman.

I currently own the Hot Toys 1.0, but I'm not compelled to spend money making improvements. Because then I might as well chuck the whole thing in the garbage and start from scratch.

Noob photography (Mine) vs a normal guy who knows how to take a photo.

A figure can’t be judged based on photos alone🤨
I don't get it. If a figure can be futzed to look a certain way in a photo, then that's what the figure can look like. These figures always come down to the futzing. If a video review or photos come out and the figure is poorly futzed that's not useful. You should always look for the photos that make a figure look it's best because that's how it can look if you futz it properly. That's what you should be looking for, what is the ceiling of this figure, because when its properly futzed thats what you can expect. Therefore, if you see great photos of a figure, that's what it will look like on your shelf, because you will futz its properly. It's not useful to see a figure not futzed, because they can all look bad in that case.

Agreed it's not useful to look at bad photos of any figure. If you are comparing two figures, you find the BEST futzed photos of both- and thats the fair and useful comparison. There are no camera tricks happening here, there aren't entire sections of the figure hidden in shadow, this is just what it can look like.

Agree on the futzing part. But from my experience, the photos and in-hand feeling about a figure always differs. 4k or 8k cameras are able to capture details that are not visible in naked eye. Also some angles make the figure look bulkier or thinner.

My joker heads look too big in all my photos but in real life it’s normal. The figure itself is on different level in hand. The ironman figures look better on photos than in real life.

I watch reviews mainly because they describe how they feel in hand and highlight any issues. So he might be waiting to see certain details and info to decide on the figure

Professional photography isn't very indicative of how things look to the naked eye. Things like lighting, focal length, etc. have a huge impact on how something looks. Not that video can't also be manipulated to look as good as possible, but seeing something in motion generally gives you a better idea of what it'll look like in-hand versus a carefully curated, professionally lit shot.

Lighting has a huge impact on how something looks in real life too, its not just photography. If something is filmed with a 50mm lens that matches closest to the human eye. So again, if you see a photo or video of a figure not futzed well, that is not useful. What is useful is the best looking photo you can find of a figure without it being entirely covered in shadow. If you have your own figures you should already know this from personal experience. Proper futzing always makes insane amounts of difference.

I suppose the video could be useful if you are bad at futzing and were never able to style it as good as a talented person. In that regard I get what you are saying, just taking it out of the box and throwing it on the table.

If you are good at futzing, Black's photos are what the figure will look like in your house. Anything you see of the figure that looks less than that, is not useful, because you can make it look like black's photos if you have talent.

If you are trying to make a judgement call between the two figures, find the best photos of each and that's the ceiling of what you can get and where you should set your expectations- if you plan on properly futzing.

I definitely think good photographers know how to pose and futz their figures and they also know what lighting to use. I'm probably going to invest in a good camera and start taking better photos of my figures. As I've gotten the futzing down for the most part.
