I honestly have no idea what the appeal is of The Big Bang Theory. Being a nerd, I enjoy the references, but after seeing 5 episodes from start to finish, I didn't laugh once. ANd this show has been on for 7 seasons? I don't get it.

Yea I watched a couple episodes and don't see how it's been on so long.

Then again I can't stand watching anything with a laugh track.

Friends is on Netflix now. I hate that show. My entire family hates that show. My wife and her family hate that show. But everyone else I know loves that show.

I've never watch Friends with the sound turned up.

The only great star wars film is ESB.

Christine is the best film based on a Stephen King book.

Blade is still one of the best comic book movies in existence.

Ben Affleck will be a good Batman

Lord of the Rings is boring as ****. It's 12 hours of people walking around with some cool cgi stuff here and there. The Hobbits are all annoying as hell...like ewoks.

Yeah shows with laugh tracks aren't funny. fact.

That's a generalization. A lot of shows use laugh tracks (or laugh tracks with live-studio audiences) and they can't be discounted because of the annoying quality of constant laughter.

I Love Lucy, The Honeymooners, The **** Van Dyke Show, the Andy Griffith Show (when Don Knotts still was a regular), MASH, Cheers, Mr. Bean Seinfeld, Frasier, etc. All of these shows are not funny? I guess it's an opinion of taste on the comedy but the laugh track shouldn't affect the jokes if they're well written.

EDIT: The **** Van Dyke show :lol

I also added MASH to that list, even though it's not my cup of tea. A huge smash hit comedy that used a laugh track. Apparently the DVD lets you watch them in their original broadcast form or without the laugh track as the creators wished it to have originally been.

It is just my opinion not a fact but yeah none of those shows are funny to me.

And it's not just the laugh tracks that i find annoying and unfunny it's the jokes on those types of shows.

It was the right choice to make Bart Simpson's shirt red instead of light blue. It gives a better contrast with the blue pants.

Luke Skywalker should have said, "No...no. That's not true, that's just silly." I think the line would have read much better.

In the Godfather Part II when Michael Corelone says, "In my home! In my bedroom. Where my wife sleeps. Where my children come to play with their toys.....in my home", I think the second "in my home" was obnoxious. Shoddy craftsmanship, Mr. Puzo.

I think the music in Jaws was dumb. It would have been way cooler if the shark popped out of nowhere without John Williams giving his position away. Just didn't seem like a fair fight, and it ruined the entire movie for me.

I think it would have been better if the Avengers said knock-knock jokes throughout the films instead of Whedon one-liners. Sure they might have gotten dull after awhile, but trust me, you'd have found them endearing by the third act.

I think it should be mandatory that everyone watches Son of the Mask before giving any movie a 1/10 on Rate and Review section. I haven't seen Jurassic World, but I'm sure it would look pretty good after watching this thing.

Out of curiosity what kind of comedy do you like? My list included a broad range of stuff. The jokes in Bean compared to Seinfeld compared to MASH are as far apart as you can get.

.....Awesome thread idea, here a few of mine:

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the 7th best Star Wars film

Superman Returns is better than The Man of Steel

Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992) are both better than any of the Nolan Batman films

Avengers: Age of Ultron was borderline unwatchable

Transformers: The Movie (1986) is one of the greatest animated films of all-time.

Star Wars Rebels is crap (although I watch it EVERY week religiously)

As far as shows i like South Park, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and The Office U.S. and for movies like stuff like Pineapple Express, Team America, and Idiocracy. so not really a wide range of stuff.

Breaking Bad isn't as good as everyone makes out. I'm not denying it's great since it is, but after going through the show once... I never felt any desire to do it again.

How is Jimmy Fallon still hosting the Tonight show? He is an unfunny suck-up who thinks he is clever. His side-kick is annoying and the bits he does with Fallon are not entertaining or funny. The show is unwatchable.

I don't think that qualifies as an unpopular opinion. He's just one of many SNL hacks that were on in the early 2000s.

I know Kevin James is an unpopular guy (and seeing a couple of his movies, I can understand why!) but I love the King of Queens. My family loves that show. My wife used to hate that show until I made her sit through some of it and now she admits its funny enough. Everyone else I know says they've never seen it before or they don't like it. It went on for nine seasons so perhaps that's not a real unpopular opinion among the masses but it is among my social circle.

I hate Friends and Seinfield both. Patooey! :lol

I didn't mine King of Queens though it grew old on me quick. I watched the first 5 seasons of The Big Bang Theory then gave up on it. They're already marrying them all off and I don't care to see them with babies.

The only comedy series I still watch is South Park.

And now I'll repeat my unpopular movie pick........I think Citizen Kane is over rated. :D

This x1000 for me.

I really don't get the appeal of the show. From what I've seen, it only has two jokes:

"Oh, I'm doing wacky stuff, I'm a neeeeeerrrrd"

"Oh, I made a geeky pop culture reference, I'm a neeeeeerrrrd"

What's more, I have family who swear by the show and say that it's funny. But I sit down and watch an episode or two with them and they just don't laugh. Maybe in all the times I've seen an episode of this ****** show with them they've laughed once.

But then they watch Fawlty Towers and they laugh all the way through both seasons, almost non stop. And they still say that The Big Bang Theory is better! What's the appeal if you're not actually laughing? :dunno

???????????????????????????????????????????????

Thinking about the show makes my brain hurt, it honestly does. Its success is baffling to me.
