Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

There have been nearly a dozen different Craig sculpts that have some resemblance

I didn't say "passing resemblance," did I? Just checked, nope, I didn't.

I can't take anything you've written seriously, as you're being downright dismissive and insulting (of everyone, artists and other posters in this thread alike). You have your bias and at least you've now made that clear. And please, stop the digital versus analog/traditional angle, it's not going to go anywhere and is akin to digging to get out of a hole.

Based on your list of acceptable Craig sculpts I can't take you seriously either. I guess we will have to agree to disagree. I just find it funny that every time I visit this thread everyone is raving about the newest Bond sculpt regardless of if it is good or not. I wasn't really blown away by that Connery sculpt either. Decent likeness, but the 1:1 scale skin texture on a 1:6th scale head killed my interest in it. I think everyone can agree this is a good time to be collecting 1/6th as there seems to be no end to the variety of sculpts being made available. Something for everyone.

What list? Can you please quote me that list so I can see what you're talking about?

The only thing that happens every time you visit this thread is that you sling a bunch of mud and then take off. Am I wrong? For someone who has a penchant for expressing little but hate, you sure do have an odd choice of user name - unless it's supposed to be introspective, I suppose.

I'm not gushing over any particular sculpts, and I've most definitely not listed or ranked any sculpts (despite your confusion). I'm just calling you out on your repeated (also unwarranted and unwelcome) BS and insults.

Look, just apologize already and everyone can move on.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Everyone's view is different on Craig sculpts, some like a certain sculpt some don't. I think that ya ha sculpt that quite a few people Have gone crazy over to be like a cartoon version of emperor palpatine. I love my bbkill skyfall sculpt. Yet others don't rate it.

There are many, many Daniel Craig sculpts. I've been looking for a perfect dc sculpt since 2008. I pretty much know every one so far. I bought imaresqd1's sculpt that was massively oversized. I bought a recast feng sculpt by TTL. I bought the road show one. I was tempted by Andy bergholtz' sculpt. There was the loading toys 'dangerous man' sculpt. there was a sculpt way back when by a woman named susala which was amazing but never came To fruition. I bought the medicom cowboys and aliens dc sculpt which I think is great. Beastmasters sculpt is one of the best for me. The modern life one is decent too.

There have been more sculpts of him than anyone probably. And no one ever agrees.

There are good sculpts of him:

Bbkill
Beastmaster
Imaresqd1's 2nd version
Medicom cowboys and aliens
Inigou
Modern life

Probably loads more too that I can't think of.

I had my bbkill painted by pete walker and I'm in love with it. In fact, my finished skyfall figure will be posted soon.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Oh and bbkills latest dc sculpt looks ace too!

Anyway. Anyone selling a peirce brosnan sculpt pm me!

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I've got Imaresq's, the TTL, Reggie's, Roadshow's, BBKill's and the only one I'm truly satisfied with is Modern Life's, after I get that I will finally call my Bond done.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Mmm, not one of those screams amazing. Mind you, you could line that number of pics of the man himself up and they'd look just as different.

I did have you confused with someone else concerning a list. If that requires a formal apology I will give it some though. I read most of the post in this thread. I would consider my comments more the emperor has no clothes than mud slinging. With a board name like pixelpiper it is little wonder that you favor digital sculpts. To each their own. I think it is a valid topic for discussion as a majority of the digital sculpts here tend to be over priced, under or over sized, and the castings seldom turn out looking like the promised product. If offering an opinion and backing it up with sound reasoning is hurting your delicate sensibilities I suggest you put me on ignore. I wasn't aware I needed your invitation or permission to participate

I've never expressed that anywhere, and even if you could read minds, you'd still be wrong.

You didn't insult me, you insulted the artists and everyone in the thread by leveling accusations that couldn't be further from the truth. I didn't see any open ended content for discussion, only a dismissal of the entire goings-on of this thread that doesn't specifically align with your perspective. You owe everyone an apology for that and your continued insolence, not for confusing someone else's post as mine.

No offence but I think you don't know what you're talking about. The texture on the Connery sculpt is fine. It might just look exaggerated in pictures.

Personally I find that one of the biggest problems with digital sculpts is lack of detail and texture in the final product. Bbkill seems to be the only digital sculptor so far who doesn't have that problem. All his sculpts are crisp and detailed and always come out looking like the digital render without any distortions.

I do agree that Snyderman's Skyfall sculpt is underrated. There was a nice repaint of that head somewhere in this thread. Snyderman's own paint up is not the best.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I don't feel the need to apologize for having an opinion that is different from other people.

You're entitled to any opinion you wish, no one is talking about your opinions. But are you honestly saying you don't recognize the problem with the things you've written about other people?

I'm being very honest here, if I didn't know better, I'd swear you were drunk right now. This all reminds me of some drunk guy walking into the middle of something shooting his mouth off.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I get that reaction a lot. Reality checks are difficult for a lot of people to accept.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

There is no reality. Only your perception of it. Thus everything is subjective.

Sorry: I hate the term "reality check" as it assumes someone's opinion is correct and true.

OK, back to your lively "debate"...

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Well, there's at least one person in this thread that doesn't know what a good sculpt looks like, nor the talent required to create one. Not everyone can know everything, so it's no big deal, it's just a shame that at the same time they can't participate in a discussion without insulting everyone else around.

Looking forward to seeing the latest ML casts and what their factory paint is going to look like.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

The bbkill looks really bad there.

Yeah, I think they all look fairly poor there -- that's why it seemed like a fair comparison. :D

I have the bbkill (still unpainted) but I do see where it has some caricature so to speak. I don't actually see the appeal of the ML sculpt (although the incredible paintwork Jake did has won me over to see its possibilities). I had high hopes for bbkill's 3.0 Craig but I still don't know.

plus, with Spectre on its way, I'm thinking to just hold off on everything Craig for now.
