Dayum just thought i'd browse timcent's listings on ebay and saw the Mark VII going for £382 :horror. The HK prices are getting even worse. Glad i've got this ordered with my local seller for £200 cheaper, yeah i have to wait 2 month's but atleast that's 200 in my pocket and basically a whole other figure.

Is this sold out? If I cant pick up for under $300 USD, I will wait for a diecast version. Not worth paying that. Also "Play Imaginative" is releasing one that has supposedly been tested to make sure chipping and fading doesn't occur. I guess they are using HT's previous flaws to help them out. Their Iron Man armors look promising, but articulation seems to be a lib it of a downer. I plan on picking it up regardless.

I also see Lot of complaints on this. Is it that off? I noticed the mask is off a bit and the arms. Other than that... looks good.

It's "Sold Out", but just get on the Wait List at Sideshow. You'd be amazed what you can get by getting on the Wait List. As soon as people get billing notices for this, a whole ton of people on the Wait Lists will get their orders converted for retail prices.

I am waiting for this figure and my BD version, plus my IM3 Tony Stark set.

I have a shelf set up planned out. They will go next to my current IM figures. Here is a quick pic of my current IM figure shelf.

so I want to pull of this pose I would need the older sculpt I know it repetitive but this looks much more iconic and now that you have the replusor hands you can actually pull it off.

Im really not sure why they have made his helmet with detachable faceplate if theres nothing underneath?
Could they not have included a tony helmeted sculpt like the BD MKVII?
I forsee many people snapping that little tab.

You have to take off the faceplate to operate the light switch. It's been relocated inside the head along with the battery compartment.
Also, there's a battle damaged faceplate, so that can swap out.

It's a very nice figure. New mask fitting device is really stupid, and why on earth can't HT get their magnets to stay where they are supposed to? The mask wouldn't stay on for 20mins and only eventually I realised that there was a tiny magnet unglued at the clasp.

I was a bit disappointed to see the rubber joints back again, but overall it looks beautiful, the arc looks the best I have seen, and it's just so damn glossy and colourful. The eyes do look bad though as does the lighting system, the transparent sockets are too big, so you can kinda see into the head, which wasn't an issue on the previous IM.

This will look killer in BD when that gets realised, but if I had to only pick one I'd go clean like this.

I will post some pics later...

Hopefully, the Tony Stark Mark 42 Mech Test kit will come with a helmet that will look better than the Mark VII. It looks like the helmet from the Tony Stark kit is not a Mark 42, so here's hoping.

Hopefully with a nicer helmet and a slight mod to the elbow joint which looks far too thin even to fit a human arm, this might look perfect.

At the moment I'm thinking of repainting a NECA Mark VII, maybe it's a stupid question, but why can NECA use the movie files where HT cannot.

I fix magnets with a little bit of gorilla glue... it worked for a bit, but the magnet got a little loose but hasn't come out...

Ok, the magnets are enough to drive a man insane. I finally got the tiniest one in then the other pops off the mask. Seriously!?
I'm well used to re-gluing HT stuff but these are very tricky.
I will wait for major *****in once people start getting these in hand.

And the arc reactor light never fully goes off, it goes from "on" bright to "off" dim, tiny amount of power still illuminating it. This was an issue with HT before on both Ghost Rider and Tron Legacy.

:(

So then, the good and the bad.

The Good:
* It's a beautiful figure overall. The nicest IM design/mark IMO.
* The detail on it is fantastic.
* The neck allows a lot more movement.
* New repulser hands.
* The BD paint work is much better than previous marks, I mean the actual quality of the detailing not the overall effect. So the BD version should be amazing when it comes out.
* The arc looks great, much more detailed and cool.
* The extra armor pieces, hands and bits are great. Escpecially the thigh bullet pieces.
* Box is nice, same as other Avengers but nice all the same.

The Bad:
* Magnets and new faceplate design is just stupid. I spent 40 minutes just trying to get the tiniest of magnets (this is really small even by HT standards) to stay in the right place. Then the other came off. Putting the button inside the mask is a step backwards.
*The mask itself: Eyes are horrible, there I've said it. I waited until having this in hand to decide properly, but looking at it now, they ruin this figure IMO.
* Rubber joints, really soft rubber too. I love the fact that HT had stopped doing this, but here they are again, how long for is anyones guess!

* The RDJ sculpt is awful, same soft detailing as I've been banging on about for ages, but really noticable on this especially the hair, and the likeness? Not sure which actor they were going for but it sure ain't RDJ. Very poor.
* The exclusive hologram: :) a small very undetailed piece of jello.
Stand him on a light box and you have a glowing piece of undetailed jello. :)
* The electronics on my arc are ****ed, as was my Ghost Rider bike and my Tron Legacy bike. They work, but just don't turn off properly, tiny amounts of power leaking into the LED to create a pretty dim flickering effect, which will slowly wear down the batteries. I stuck the plastic separator back in to stop it. Not too pushed about it to be honest, but expect better from HT.

So that's it.
It looks great on display, coolest IM out there IMO. But has some real drawbacks. At least mine does.
