I've had a couple of items over the last 4 years that had to be returned. My RWOS had a cracked hoof and couple of other SSW pieces. I rarely get something that's broke like that. It happens and sucks when it does but I wouldn't say SS QC sucks.

I would normally agree with you if this was a rare incident but honestly their QC is really in the dumps lately. I have had to return too many things over the last few months to keep writing it off as bad luck.

Returned due to QC issues...
2 Captain Americas
Emma Frost
I would have had to return Bond if I didn't use the Hair dryer trick to get his peg to fit in the base.
Spidey Vs Venom Dio Exclusive

Frustrating....really frustrating. :monkey2

That sucks. I've only had to return one item to Sideshow so far (my PF Frodo because the sword came with a big glob of brown paint on it) but returing and getting the item was a breeze (thanks to the wonderful customer service folks). Yeah, it's painful to have to send something back and wait for a new one but I'm sure you're new one will be top notch. Other than that snafu the statue looks great doesn't it?

Other than the flaw, the statue looks incredible. Great detail and such a great sculpt. The size is very small though but it works well for this piece. If you are a LOTR fan then you should own this statue- end of story. :)

I know Sideshow's customer service will take care of me but this is still a bummer of a thing to always have to go through.

could someone take a pic of this near a figure or mini bust for scale?

It's really nice in person. Amazing how they got the likeness of Elijah Wood in such a small scale. I might just return it for a refund though as some of my money may be going towards something else Nash.....:monkey3 :lol

Just because you've had a few items doesn't mean anything about the overall level of the SS QC. That's not a fair comparison as this doesn't seem to be a rampant issue on the board. I totally understand that it's frustrating and when I've had to send stuff back it just sucks, but your few products just mean you had ones that needed to be sent back. These people check on thousands of products so some are gonna slip through. They shouldn't but hey we're humans and it's gonna happen.

One thing to remember on things like having to use the hair dryer trick. Which I've had to use in the past is that Poly is a material that the weather can mess with. Your Bond may have been fine on when it was packed, but during shipping if it hit a certain temp because of storage/outside heat it could be bent in just enough. That this would cause the leg to be off just ever so slightly.

I disagree Josh. I don't feel that I am in the minority here. I am constantly reading about QC issues and the numbers just don't add up. I couldn't possibly be this unlucky with just Sideshow products, it's improbable to impossible. I will agree about Bond's leg...maybe the weather got that one but all the rest no way. These were factory errors that should not happen or be present in a high quality item.

I should not be getting a statue with a finger glued on from the factory nor should my PF's clothes have stains, or my statues have chips. Ask around. The statue forum, here, and anywhere else which company has the most dreadful QC and most will answer a resounding Sideshow.

i returned my emma frost cause the print had a hole in it.
i received back from qc a emma with putty on the foot and no paint on the boots. that is pretty poor in my opinion

Well, I wouldn't believe crap coming from Statue Forum.

I guess we'll have to agree 2 disagree. I don't see any more issues per piece than I do with any other company :)

No offense Josh but this Polls for you.

It's as unbiased as it gets. Done on an a forum in the general section where all companies can be equally represented. Let's see the results. :)

No offense taken and I hope this doesn't offend you but I won't believe **** coming from that forum sorry. That place is so full of crap it's eyes are brown.

How can you claim that? What research have you done that supports that? Those collectors are just the same as the ones over here...honestly they both share many members. :confused:In fact many of them love Sideshow as well as other companies.

Some of them are very cool. It's the ones that also post here I will say that. From my experience on that board and lurking I don't have a high opinion of them. Sorry.

No worries. It's your opinion and you are entitled to it.

In my experience people are people. I don't really see too much of a difference between the people on each board except the members of Statue forum are a little more into statues rather than 12" figures etc. :)

statueforum is more of a bowen forum
this is obviously a ss forum
i think that poll says alot though because fans of other lines as well as fans of ss lines are voting. i collect all lines and ss is the one and only one i have ever had to return a product. and i had to return product multiple times w/ss.
hard hero is always mint.
bowen has always been mint for me.
keep in mind, i know people have had bad experiences with all co.s but ss is the leader of the crap

Got my "crack of doom" today, looks great. Great sculpt at that scale. The likness is right on. Impressed with it, its a keeper.
