I saw this this weekend. As much as I liked that they stuck so close to the source material, I felt the flow of the story was disrupted because of it.

That said, I too was disappointed in the voice acting, especially Ben McKenzie. But Cranston did a great job as Gordan

I thought it was great... But it felt like a Jim Gordon driven film! Loved the style of the animation and I think Ben McKenzie acting was very passable, but not the best we've heard.

I'd say its definitely worth getting. I was expecting it to be really awesome, and it was really good, was just disappointed by the voice acting. But the extra's were really good. The documentaries and thecatwoman short. I'd say if your a fan of the book already, then get it.

But Batman is gonna be in it most of the time. So if the voice is ____ty, I'm not gonna get it :panic:

Thought it was good.

One thing though, I always though Barbara Gordon was Jim Gordon's daughter. In this she is his wife

What was the Catwoman short like? I downloaded the movie off iTunes and it didn't come with that short unfortunately.

You won't be missing much unless you like animated chicks dancing with a pole....okay that makes it sound like you are missing out but honestly it wasn't that good IMO.

Watched this last night. I agree with what everyone is saying. The voice work, mostly for batman, is really disappointing.

My girlfriend had a good point... maybe it's on purpose, as he evolving into the batman we all know and love. I'll buy that. I just hope we get someone with a big boy voice for the long halloween!

Oh well, not gutted that it wasn't included with iTunes now then.

^ I will accept that his voice isn't quite Batman's yet since he's starting out, but it's not just the actual voice that's the problem - it's the delivery of the lines. So flat and broken.

Yeah, the catwoman short was ok, was just that though, short. Only 15 minutes long. Was worth watching as its on the blu ray but dont bother if you have to pay for it.

:exactly: Thats exactly my point. I dont mind that its supposed to be a slightly younger, less rounded out batman, but thats not the problem. I just found the actor was terrible. As you said, the delivery of the lines was just so flat and lifeless, like he was literally just sat there reading from the page. No emotion in it.

Bought this on Blu at the midnight launch for Arkham City, awesome flick, but dammit if I don't want Cranston as a live action Gordon.
