To answer the question about this, Toys2 is the official North American Distributor of Hot Toys products. Sideshow used to get their shipments from Toys2 as well although someone mentioned a while back that thanks to the constant collaboration between HT and SSC that they get their stuff direct. Toys2 will get any HT product first in the states then it trickles down from there. The other usually goes:

Release:
ToyHunters (HT's own brick and mortar store)
Asian Sellers and Dealers (eBay, etc)
Toys2
SSC
SSC's afflitates like AlterEgo, Razor's Edge, etc.

Where does Big Bad Toy Store fall in there?

At the very end of the list, and typically by at least a month.

Their prices are nearly always at the top end, they get their figures in after just about everyone else, they have no reward scheme... and yet their 'pile of loot' feature and their awesome customer service keeps me coming back

So just to be clear: Toys 2 and BBTS both get the same exact products?

For example: they both would have sold the DCD (batch 3) version of the DX02?

Dead freakin' last.

I've never used BBTS's "pile of loot" feature, and haven't had a need to bug customer service about anything, so it doesn't seem like there is any real advantage to them over Toys2.

I definitely would never buy from Toy Hunters because I like the idea of waiting until later batches are release when bugs are gotten out of the production.

I'm with ya on all accounts. I'll get this version and a Black but that will be it as far as Spidey goes. Iron Man I will be getting the all the versions they make cause well they're fraking awesome.

Yes and no. Toys2 gets direct from HT so they would have sold batch 1 of the DX. DCD batch 2 and 3 were revised and went to them almost immediately while at the same time the batches were replenishing at Toys2. So Toys2 also sold them all, all three batches but you couldn't immediately count on the third batch because they would be selling stock from all of them.

I can't even fathom the nitpicking CR supes is going to receive. I almost feel bad for the figure.
And i'm not saying that cause i'm biased and like SM, i see this in IM threads and HT thread all the time. And i have little interest in those.

Late to this thread. I know this is kind of a long rant, but remind you it's after reading 55 pages or so of this thread.

I saw the ht facebook pics up right when they came out and they only left me feeling blah about this figure. I wasn't blown away like I usually am with a HT release and it's such a disappointment considering how big of a Spider-Man fan I am.

Why Spidey 3? The WORST movie I think I have ever seen. Truly. It sucks on so many levels and has almost ruined Spider-Man movies for me. Spidey 1&2? Two of the best comic book movies ever. Love them!...So that is disappointment number one, but it's a small one at that and since the suit really doesn't change at all I'm fine with whatever Spidey fig we get as long as it's done right in 1/6 scale.

A couple gripes now that I can finally figure out what's bugging me about this figure:

1) The head was the first thing that jumped out at me that I didn't like and I suppose I really couldn't figure it out until...Diamond eyes. MUST lessen this effect and just make it more of a pearl look. I also think the eyes are too small and need to be enlarged ever so slightly.

2) I have yet to see a side profile shot that really gives the impression of features under the mask. It's like they chopped off his nose and chin and just put a round ball under there.

3) Darken the web on the suit. Bright silver and almost white in some pics is a no. It looks horrible.

4) Boots? Jeez. Cloth.

5) Hands. While not as bad as the boots I still feel like they could've pulled off cloth.

These ps look 10x better IMO. I would even go a tad more darker on the top one.

Did a little adjustment to the color of the web. I think this one looks better than the color white.

Outside of that, I must say the body looks great, the cloth mask is done well, and the pattern on the blue and red suit look fantastic.

But I'd still much rather have something more like this, maybe minus the "painted leg muscles"

For me personally, I would like the webbing to be a tad darker. But it's not a deal breaker. (boots don't bother me as i've had ALL the medi versions)

About as much as i'm a SS apologist! But i do enjoy the taste of HT's ____!
