All that is fine. Competition is good I’m not disputing that whatsoever, but where it gets old is when people are presumptuous and make comments like I’ll wait for InArt because that’ll be better. Based on what? Your feelings on other figures they’ve released but nothing for this character in particular?

Also there is a segment of collectors who since the inception of InArt (and now JND) like to downplay Hot Toys quality like they’re such subpar figures or something. That’s where I get annoyed.

I can admit Hot Toys has made some lazy and questionable decisions. No questioning that whatsoever but by and large they’re still a decent company and put out good figures.
And that's how the majority of people still very much view them. Again, like you said, the difference is that we now have the option to "wait and see" from other companies rather then just accepting whatever Hot Toys gives us.

The "downplayness" of it all comes from us entering a phase where we're seeing higher levels and tiers from INART/JND that we haven't from Hot Toys. The structure and the overall line that we drew as "acceptable" for these figures has changed. It's only natural as more and more competition enters the hobby.

It's like eating one meal from one store your entire life. Only for there to now be 2 stores open up next to it offering different food at a different price point. There's nothing wrong with the first store but you now have more options and a wider "palette" so to speak.

No one can explain what a higher end figure is. You have to experience it for yourself...

Hot Toys are not entirely mentally stable.
HT isn't known for improving or fine tuning the final product in these recent years unless the product is widely hated with the risk of not selling or not until Inart came to the picture. That really is their only motivation to improve on something.
Hot Toys will announce products just because a competitor is tackling the same character and never bring them to market. I can't think of another company that's shown off so many unproduced figures. I suppose it's one thing to tease a figure from a movie that doesn't make enough money to warrant merchandise, but to tease a surefire success purely out of spite with no real intention of producing it? Not a good look, makes them appear unreliable.

I have little confidence in HT hese days anyway. They've become so boring and predictable.

I miss the days when they didn't have a Facebook page and just sent out newsletters announcing figures and licences like Hans Landa and Platoon.

Why are people acting like these figures being nitpicked apart here is new? INART not existing doesn't somehow magically make this figure more accurate. People have been anal over the details and inaccuracies for over a decade now. Those body/suit issues are still very much there regardless of another company. The only difference is that we now have the option to say "I'll wait to see what INART/JND does." Instead of just taking up the ass whatever Hot Toys puts out because they're our only option.

Hot Toys going backwards in terms of the body and suit, while excelling forward in other aspects like the sculpt and a bit of the cowl, is entirely in line with how they have been over the years. It's nothing new. There's a reason collectors joke around about how they'll just wait for the next version from Hot Toys because they'll very likely do a 3.0 in the future.
Some people are brand new to the hobby

1/4 scale Police Station Assault T-800, Jungle Hunter and Dutch. ****in' A holes quite frankly.

I agree. I'm still hoping I will see what others are seeing in InArt whenever I get Gandalf, but currently, with only their TDK Joker, I'm not fawning all over them they way a lot of collectors are.

A pretty weird release--so many improvements on the Deluxe, but the suit itself appears to be less accurate than the original, and they've billed the inaccuracy as an improvement.

Still, the figure looks awesome if you aren't bothered by that. I'm no BVS fan, but even I find this tempting.

Not that bad but, just to piss off the HT boot-lickers, I’m waiting for InArt- coz **** Hot Toys and their ‘entry-level’ plastic play things for peasants.
This doesn’t cost anywhere near 1K! That’s soooo 2020

Never look at a HT and hope it's accurate, they can only add so much detail before they decide it's not even going to be seen. In this case suit looks accurate enough to were we know it's Batfleck from BvS.

Dear HT if you want my money you’re going to have to take advantage of my uncontrollable urge to impulse buy 1/6 scale figures.

Give me a 6-10 month release window and you got me.

If you don’t want my money just keep doing what you’re doing which is announcing figures that are two years out.

Fools.
