I think the lesson for Mars here is a simple one:

When everyone is singing your praises from the mountain tops due to an amazing release and you decide to make a second batch ... DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING!

A little futzed from yesterday. Hopefully I can get that dino tie on him soon and do a full futzing.

Here's the before-n-after... just some basic straightening really helps, lifting the pants under the vest and especially that left arm...

Sometimes I wonder about people… this second batch is just as good as rhe first one minus the shirt. It might even be a little better when shirt and vest are replaced.
His jacket was improved. It sits way more naturally, the edges have been glued down which I like. His shoes are glossy instead of matt, another plus for the second batch. The tie differs a little, but both fail equally to satisfy. Don’t want to go the Dino tie route before trying my own attempt, but these need to be replaced equally.
Not sure if it is indeed a smaller vest. It might be a different a little bigger body underneath. Not sure though. I will try to make a photo love story over the next days and post it here, but rest assured, the figure will be just as fantastic as the first batch when the replacement shirt is there.
Funfact: the button on my batch one vest broke, happens all the time with these tiny poppys so I support every idea to get rid of these. Since the batch one shirt uses magnets aswell I want to encourage Mars to keep trying to use magnets. I will replace my broken poppy with a magnet now.

Edit: shirt buttons are placed on different heights giving the impression that the fest sots lower, but this is not the case. I really start to believe that it is all because of the underlying body

I wondered about the jacket lapel tips being stuck down with double sided tape -- I never remember anyone saying that with Batch 1. But it is helpful.

Good to know about the shiny shoes too. Not sure which is more accurate.

It is. May use some phototape and fix it on the first batch. Will have to look into the source material what fits better.

The colors do not really differ btw. I don’t see aproblem with switching jackets or vests. I may try this and see what works best.
Something noteworthy: headsculpts are absolutely identical, no loss in casting quality or paint quality

The only odd thing of note is the CUFFS on my green shirt. I have not taken the jacket off, but while trying to pull the shirt cuffs out of the jacket sleeves, it appears that one of my cuffs is fastened like a French cuff, while the other is sewn like a regular button sleeve.

Not sure which way is correct, but either way, I'm halfway there.
French cuffs are accurate

shinier shoes are more accurate

Kit said that the body used was the same as the first batch:

He confirmed both batches using the same body...

It's the waistcoat that's shrunk a bit. Going by other reviews the shrinkage wasn't uniform as there have been quite a few sets of photos now where the waistcoat couldn't be closed.

Mine was fine, but more snug than the original, with the top button out of alignment. The magnets are a much better solution than the ugly, fragile poppers. But we can't have nice things because there are too many people who can't or won't do a little futzing or take logical steps to correct simple problems with their figures. So the properly scaled replacement waistcoat will have those poppers again. Should be simple enough to replace them with the magnet strips from the faulty waistcoat.

Then it's just the shirt collar, and everything else is the same as the first batch, apart from the duplicate hand.

I know this figure already comes with a bunch of hands so me saying this next is hardly a complaint. BUT, would’ve been cool if they included the clasped hands that even HT was planning on including had they actually followed through on their figure.
