They knew when the jig was up too, and scattered quickly into the shadows.

What's up with Gotham City, why so many closed down factories and theme parks? Axis Chemicals, an entire Zoo, that island Riddler made his secret base on... lots of real estate going to waste in Gotham.

Gotham is like Detroit, but not as bad. :chase

City can’t even have a parade without it turning into a gaseous, bullet riddled disaster area.

Over-ambitious Mars is going crazy with possibilities. I love it, but also getting nervous. Teases have replaced POs like 10-to-1.

So far, it's just been '66 Joker that has people shouting more-more-more suddenly!!! Their Parade Joker (Nicholson) was solid but not amazing. I'm guessing Romero's simplicity added to its success along with the great sculpts.

I really need to see Mars' follow-up to Romero to feel confident about consistency.

1966 Batman line will likely be their best -- outfits are simple and meant to be cartoony.

More complex outfits, like Penguin's mayoral costume, will likely be more challenging. And I'm really curious how well they will do at female figures -- Catwoman (Pfeiffer and Newmar) and Batgirl.

I'm excited but trying to manage my expectations...
Hate to be pessimistic but I’m in agreement about Mars Toys. It feels like they’re getting a bit too ambitious. The prospect of a DeVito Penguin is very exciting, but they have so many other things seemingly in development and have only delivered one figure.

No exactly true. Mars may have only delivered one '66 Batman character, but it's not the only figure they've produced under their Mars company name. It's just the main (if not only) one most ppl have been talking about

These are their other release:
DX08 Joker KO with a second run.
Breaking Bad Mike
Breaking Bad Heisenburg
Wolf of Wall Street DiCaprio
Batman Begins Ras

I'm hoping they re-release the DX08 KO in some form, I missed out and regret it.
They've already done one reissue after the initial release got so much praise, so unless there's a large demand yet again, I doubt it. Especially with all their new project in the pipeline. It can still be had for around $200 if you keep looking. Not as affordable as initial pricing, but still better than official aftermarket price.

Yeah, I realized I was wrong after I posted. Still though they have quite a bit in the pipeline versus the number of figures they’ve actually released.

I like their ambition but I just hope they don’t get people too excited without being able to deliver. I think they should focus on getting the figures they have up for pre-order out and not keep on piling up more teasers.

I made the same mistake earlier in this thread

I will say, to their credit, they delayed the ‘89 Bruce Wayne figure since the initial production samples weren’t up to par apparently. So, at least they’re trying to keep quality high as far as we know.

But, I do agree, we need to see more stuff released. They're getting into present toys territory with the amount of POs vs what’s been released

Someone said Mars got a new factory for Romero Joker which is why its so good, as opposed to their DX08 KO which personally I felt had a number of typical flaws for 3rd party.

Hope this new factory can deliver on all these new promises.

That was me 🙋‍♂️

And I'm only going off what they said at the time when the re-run of the DX08 KO was delayed. They mentioned they were moving to a new factory after that debacle. I believe half of the re-run was at the old and half at the new if I remember correctly. I do think my second run DX08 KO looks better than the initial batch but not as good as '66 Joker. That said, having both in hand, the '66 Joker is definitely the better overall figure than the DX08 KO, especially in the eyes and teeth paint apps as well as the crispness and paint apps of the accessories.

I might actually get the ducky boat- if it were made. It’d look pretty wacky next to the Batmobile but Burton always made yellow and black look like a good combination.
That would turn this into a real statuesque display piece. I wouldn’t even mind if it was slightly downscaled. If Hot Toys can compress the Batmobile by 10% then Mars can save a little plastic on the ducky.

:exactly:I think we all got caught in that Romero Joker hype and people think that level of quality will be Mars' minimum standard going forward. I think we need to temper our expectations a bit here, for exactly the reasons you pointed out!

It's the same thing with InArt: they're treated like the "non plus ultra" despite having released just one figure so far. Sure, their Joker is great, but it's neither 100% flawless nor the best 1/6 figure ever produced imo.

Honestly - I'm probably gonna be a sucker and buy both.
The Eternal Toys proto looks great, and I really like both of my Mars Toys figures - and if Mars does the Duck Boat there is a 10000% chance of me buying it.

I'll probably get both too.

Not sure if anyone has noticed, but it looks like Mars has updated their original preview to reflect the duck boat will be an “extra sale”. I hope the penguin army is still included with the figure.
