I agree, natural materials like wood usually look better I feel.. it is quite difficult to find good 1:6 scale western dioramas I have discovered

Like gold dust. Triad Toys and Asmus Toys have produced dioramas. A seller on Esty has madea a church and Jail diorama.

You pretty much have to make your own. That’s what I’m doing. But it’s really hard to find the appropriate elements to fill a Western theme in 1/6 scale.

Ahh definitely, one is somewhat limited to the front of buildings or similar settings unless someone has a lot of time, skill, and money to make full 1:6 scale buildings and areas in an old west style

Indeed so, that Jail on etsy is exactly the one I will be using. There was only one unfortunately though, and the creator informed me that he wasn't taking anymore orders for his dioramas now and planning on shutting down his shop due to not having the available time to produce them anymore.

I am thinking so to.. I very well may see how it is designed and constructed, and try my hand at replicating a similar building as well.. would be easier to accomplish with a model like that to go off of

You could also look at train set buildings to get an idea of how to make the false fronts of buildings. Or do a search for Old West buildings to see the real thing, or watch a ton of old Westerns. The reality is, Hollywood got the false fronts correct. False fronts were used to hide the fact that most of the interiors of these buildings were pretty sparse and not attractive in the least on the inside, and the building behind the front was pretty much just a square box.

Is that the door to the haberdashery one? That looks pretty legit, and could be used for a Colter scene very easily

That is very true.. I grew up in Oklahoma, and had a set of grandparents that had a Longhorn ranch when i was younger. I remember well my grandfather always having those old westerns on tv, specifically on the Encore Channel Westerns..

The spaghetti westerns were always my favorite, The cool oddballness that some of them had, like the original Django in 1966 having a gattling gun in a coffin, and the makeshift bed that Trinity's horse would pull him all over the place on in the My Name Is Trinity series, all have fond memories for me.

I really love how the Red Dead games paid homage, and gave nods to some of those old classics from a time long gone by.. John's winter cowboy coat.. that was from a film called The Great Silence.. I love that coat, wish I could find a real world equivalent

I’m hoping the neck and chest piece stays the same, most other bodies suffer from pencil neck syndrome and this one is a nice change
