I can think of few bigger followings outside of Kojima stuff. Metal gear would make a great start. Solid Snake and Gray Fox each present their own unique challenges with very form fitting costumes. These will likely only get a bigger following the closer we get to the in production film.

I mean sure… besides Pokemon, you mean, right? Anywho, while it might be true, Inart is not out for big numbers in production since they’re a premium brand, but a guaranteed niche willing to put the money required. They don’t need a huge fanbase, they need a cult they know will buy whatever they release. I think that’s the biggest difference actually from their model to Hot Toys. And if they continue to deliver, they will totally prevail.

The announcement about them releasing anime stuff was huge too. Anime does move massives amount of money as a whole, but on this high end level it’s almost nothing compared to what we’re used to (batstuff, galaxy pew-pew’s, etc), so I hope they at least keep on trying to search for those markets that haven’t been explored at this level of quality.

Also, gaming keeps on growing, and Sony specially is really up to something with their gaming industry when it comes to acknowledgement from a cultural standpoint and social(media) impact too so…here’s to hoping.

Heck, I forgot. I want the Ghost of Tsushima. Oh my… daydreaming yet again. Yeah, yeah, there’s the VTS one but c’mon, what an underwhelming choice of clothes that was, and soft face… I need Viper’s touch on it. He’d kill it.
Pokemon's its own thing. But gaming usually doesn't do well in merch because the demographics don't overlap. Gamers don't much care for physical representations. Any VG line I've collected, from 2" minifigures and above, gets cancelled pretty early. Maybe that's changing, especially with stuff like imported brands and the such, but that's been the norm for as long as I've been aware. But I haven't "gamed" for a decade+ so dunno, maybe all those statues, Nendoroids and the such have the current crop wanting regular and higher end toys as well.

Anime's different. I'm into this hobby for the realism. Without it, I don't care, especially in regards to the face. If they do something like HT did with the Future Fight Punisher where they took the model and made it realistic, I'd be game. Otherwise, I'm not looking to start another line. Even VGs I'm trying to reign in considering my huge list of comic book and movie wants.

If that film ever gets made. I'm trying not to set myself up for disappointment. But it'd be hard to reign myself in should a proper 1/6th MGS line ever happen. I'd ideally grab the key players from each game, but realistically I'd go for a single look for each of the big players. But as with everything it depends on if and when it happens, what else is going on in my life and so on. Still, as far as VG licenses go, this is the one I'm rooting for the most. They'd be fantastic figures.

A Metal Gear line would be awesome. I’m sure they’d sell quite a few of those, although there’s the issue about not being an entry line for young people since it’s been forgotten already (thanks Konami for that, will hate them until the end of times).

Zelda I didn’t even mention because…Nintendo. But that’s one that would hit hard on every front, still really relevant, and comparable to the anime stuff. Medicom’s Link from BoTW is a figure I still drool about, with all its issues. Then again, Nintendo is a hard as all hells company to deal with afaik.

In the future though, I think it’s Kratos, Alloy (my god that would be an intricate figure, that hair would be awesome), Ellie and Joel, Nathan Drake and so on the one’s that would have an option, since they are relevant, have good stories behind and actually make for good figures, with memorable scenes. Sony studios are nowadays on par with HBO if you ask me when it comes to the quality of their products and that’s what would give them a chance. That and us, collectors, asking for them!

PS: Figma has sold out every Sony game related figure they’ve released lately, as overpriced as they are. That’s a good indication if you ask me.

Out of all those I'd pay good money for a proper high end Kratos. GoW 3, God Armour, Ragnarok; there's lots of options. The problem is how they'd pull off the seamless look and the tattoo. The rest have good chances, but I'd pass on them; trying to limit my "regular dude in a suit" wants. My "guy in a suit" grail is a Mads Hannibal and I'd pay InArt anything to make it.

I'd also be tempted by a Sam from Death Stranding if we're talking recent VGs.

I'm all for Metal Gear.
However I don't want any of my money and license fee going into Konami's pocket - since Kojima is out and the entire Metal Gear license is down to Konami pachinko machine these days.

I'll leave this to LimToys' good hands.

Mad’s Hannibal! Forgot about that one, I’d give a kidney for one of those with a full table set up with that delicious food he cooked. It’s one of my if not my favourite series ever.

Also, would pay anything for a statue of his “Tree Man” creation. That was so awefully beautiful… the art on Hannibal was simply amazing.

Sex sells. Everywhere.
I’m sure Depp would like a refund…

I’m somewhat glad there are so many InArt licenses that I have no
Interest in whatsoever.
After going temporarily insane and POing three Aragorns, I couldn't risk that happening more than maybe three times a year.

I won’t be doing any Jacko, anime, game characters, Joaquin, Game of Thrones- a Daeny may tempt me but that would be it.
Lord of the Rings, Batman/JL stuff and Harry Potter will be more than enough to wipe me out financially thank you very much.

That'd certainly be the kind of figure I'd go all out for. Hannibal, maybe two pairs of suits, Wendigo Hannibal, a diorama with the table or something. I'd pay the Jokor 1K price. Maybe one day that and an S4 will happen. Doubtful, but...

At around 34:55 in that new interview he says there's a couple of Netflix shows InArt wants to work on (I can't hear what he says next when Justin interrupts him), I wonder what they could be, I doubt it's Stranger Things since Threezero is already doing that, and I thought there was no Netflix in China lol

Hannibal is on Netflix... Deluding myself aside, I can't think of any Netflix originals that'd translate well into figures and didn't get canned one season in. Dunno, maybe they liked Wednesday? Oh, maybe Sandman? I didn't even watch the show but I'd surely buy a Morpheus. I dropped ~1K on the Absolutes, what's 500 more?

It's a DC property too, so I'm thinking it's possible.

InArt aren't going to stop doing Batman and it's ridiculous to think they should. First and foremost they are a business so why would they turn down guaranteed money.

New stuff will happen but it will be alongside the staple characters not at the expense of them.

Doubtless there will be complaints if InArt make Terminator figures. Yes Hot Toys have done them before but not especially well in my eyes. Lots of rom for improvement should they get that licence.

Ah those are good guesses! Now that you mention those I'd have to think InArt is going after at least one of them since I can't think of any other show that would be figure-worthy lol

There must be an overabundance of underaged kids buying up loads of typical high-end figures priced between 270-400usd so WB thought 'Damn these youths and their inexplicable disposable incomes!
In order to protect their innocence and shield them from the dark content of this movie and the antisocial behaviour and antiestablishmentarianism of its protaganist- despite them all having undoubtedly seen the film and all having had unfettered access to the internet since the age of 6, with the ability to find every recorded horror known to man at the click of a button, not to mention misinformation presented as fact, ideological indoctrination fed by the algorithms and the unending barrage of vitriol found in facebook and youtube etc. comments sections - we'll have to set the boundary for toys at one thousand dollars. That will keep the children pure a little longer.'
Ridiculous, no doubt. As was the concern about people being inspired to acts of anarchy and violence when Joker was released. It's not like there wasn't a flood of cheap, unlicensed 1/6 Phoenix Jokers.

I can't think of another reason for such a mandate as stupid as that reason is... except maybe fleecing collectors. I don't remember if it was WB, but I recall reading somewhere that a licensor didn't want to bother granting licenses for figures unless the take was worthwhile.

I was scratching my head too and I couldn't think of anything else. Sandman was renewed too, and since they're partners with WB as of now, it makes sense to me. Morpheus in his leather get up with the mask and a rooted hair, and maybe Lucifer would make for pretty great figures. Maybe they could milk it with a Coleman Constantine? The Ellis Lucifer show is Netflix too, now that I think of it. And it did run for, what, 5 seasons? Just something to think about, although I think it's unlikely.

If I got a Morpheus, a Lucifer, and then a Keanu JonCon, I'd be able to cross off my Vertigo wants from my list. They wouldn't be perfect 1:1 versions of the comics (for that you'd have needed 2000s Depp as Morpehus, Jude Law as Lucifer and dunno, Ewan McGregor or Collin Farrell for JonCon to keep the 00s theme going), but they'd be good enough.

I thought about Wednesday too, since Threezero already have Stranger Things. Could also be The Witcher, but timing’s all wrong… Still would sell as hotcakes (rooted hair Roach anyone?). Other ones I’d love but doubt would ever happen:

1. Daredevil.
2. House of Cards Kevin (even worse timing than Witcher)
3. Bojack Horseman (I mean, come on haha)
4. Russian Doll. (She’s awesome)
5. Omar Sy’s Lupin (Air Jordan’s and all)
6. Ozark‘s Jason Bateman (LOVE that guy)
7. Narcos Pablo Escobar (Not in a 1000 years)
8. NPH Count Olaf from A series of unfortunate events (would actually make for a great figure)
9. Luke Cage (hate that it got canceled)

Well, since John said there's no interest to do Burton's Catwoman or Penguin because the movie doesn't play in China... there's hope they like Pirates.
This is so sad. :(
So their main market is in China, huh..
Maybe that's also the reason why HT didn't make those two.
I never knew the Burton movie doesn't play in China. It's such a masterpiece!

All this talk of InArt Jack Sparrow 😍 If they were to make one, I would just hope it’s either from the first movie or at least one of the original trilogy movies. As good as the HT figures are, they’re from the last two movies that aren’t as good as the original trilogy.

But yea, that’s one character that would showcase InArt’s talents in nearly every category.
