I have 15+ active PO with KGH, eight (nine with Hunter) have been released so far in HK (three of those out this summer) and i have yet to get an invoice. Those delays are getting out of hand. No more PO from KGH until i get at least half of my orders fulfilled.
I gave up on KGH when they failed to fulfil my Krennic order.
However, I need a new supplier. I had a very reliable online retailer in HK that is now winding down their business. Any suggestions?

It may be good, but not perfect. Why not asking for perfection?

PS. The issue is not specific to Padme. It's the general behaviour.
No 1/6 company has ever produced a perfect headsculpt, no matter how close they may be in likeness. These are sculpted by individual artists they are never going to be 1:1; unless you just 3D scan the actors which is much less impressive and takes away from the "art" aspect.

Maybe I am accepting less than perfection. But this is something I and many others have been excited for for years and for it to be so far and away better than what we saw years ago is a massive boon to us. I don’t think being positive and excited for something is a bad thing. You see it as we’re ‘settling’ in your estimations, but I utterly disagree. In my opinion, this is a piece I will absolutely accept. Because that’s the thing, your opinion on the sculpt is your opinion, just like I hold mine that it’s a very great 8.5-9. Some angles are perfect, some angles are off. I’d argue the Anakin has a similar situation, maybe just with more angles looking perfect. But that’s often what happens with PERS and the lighting issues in the photos which we have talked about extensively. If you want to choose this figure as a battleground for your sculpt argument, go ahead. For me, there’s just too much negativity in life to feel annoyed at an 8-9/10 Padme headsculpt which is far better than I thought it could have been.

I'm not defending KGH, but they're not the only ones that got shorted on Krennic. That was rare case of a figure being insufficiently produced and Hot Toys not being able to fulfill orders.

I don't buy from HK myself, but OneSixthKit is one of the most reliable people in the hobby although they have a preorder cutoff. ToysBuyingAgent seems to be alright as well. I wouldn't order from anyone else personally, if I were to go that route.

I just realized that the ManiacallySmilingPortmanDress.gif is your signature.

I honestly thought you were just so excited by this figure that you kept posting it. :lol

Dunno 'bout the UK but lately in Ireland I'm paying customs on literally anything that comes from outside the EU no matter how small and no matter how low the declared value is. The post office warned me this would be the case but then a bunch of things came through without charges and I thought they must have had it wrong. However now it seems to have come into effect in the last couple of months. I've gotten charged for single NECA figures from BBTS and yesterday had to pay out on Hot Toys Loki coming from TBA in Hong Kong.

Having said that, sellers declaring low value does still help to reduce what I pay.
Ahh ok gotcha. That really blows 😔 You guys definitely have it worse. And here us in the US complain just about the shipping along when you guys have even more on top of all that.
I used to use Machine Gun, Monkey Depot and plenty of Europe based sellers before Brexit. Now, anything not based on this ignorant little island is charged too excessively to be justifiable.

Does Kit get his HT stock in quickly though? He and KG are very good for third party figures but KG seem to be 6 months behind Sideshow on average now for all HT releases.
That’s the passion-killer I’m trying to avoid.
The standard HT delays are bad enough without piling on an additional half a year.
That's understandable but as I said above, that really sucks for you guys.

I think Kit typically does get his stock pretty fast. But right now with the plethora of releases he's running a little behind in processing all the orders. So I think he just sent out invoices for Axe Woves and White Vision. But if you have facebook, he regularly updates there on his page when a new item has arrived (both official and 3rd party) usually with a picture of the figure box and an "Invoices Sent" note.

You could kidnap the actor and use a shrink-ray to shorten down them to 1/6 scale and there will still be collectors here complaining they look like Tom Cruise, Bobby Brown or some other random actor the figure looks nothing like. It's become a forum trope at this point. Some people just like to whinge about portraits like I do about Disney/Kennedy Star Wars.

I think the sculpt looks great. Is it the best? Absolutely not. I'd argue contenders for that award would be Yondu, Gamora, Reva etc. Everyone should just be grateful it isn't among the worst like ANH Farmboy Luke or this poor potato:

TBA is indeed a great retailer. unfortunately, it seems that first batch are not offered anymore. Also, no more 20% deposit available. 50% upfront is the norm now.

One Sixth Kit seems to be another reliable source with lots of good feedback read here and elsewhere.

I've heard about Lion Rock Toys as well. I have yet to order from them though.

I highly recommend OSK

I completely understand why you’d have that thought :rotflI’ve been a little excited to say the least!

:goodpost: Completely agree. And that’s basically because we all see people differently, and people look different in different pictures and when they are in motion. That’s why it’s a subjective experience. You’re right, it’s not Yondu but I’d personally also wager that it’s better than a majority of the Hot Toys announcements we’ve seen this year.

Right there with RavenAsh. I think this is sculpt is a 9/10. I had no plan on getting Padme based on the con pics from a few years ago. But what I see now is something I absolutely want in my collection.
I would pretend that I wouldn’t have purchased the 2019 proto…but I can’t, I definitely would have talked myself into it. I’m just glad I didn’t have to because it turned out this incredible :yess:

They’ve already done multiple Hayden sculpts and have now gotten it to an incredible quality
Haven’t they really only done the one previous Hayden sculpt and simply tweaked the paint for Dark Side vr, then gave him a different hairstyle for TCW?

So as this is also technically their second crack at Padme- presumably sculpted recently along with Anakin- I can see why the expectation would be for it to be similarly excellent.

Perhaps the same sculptor has also made The Mighty Thor so, possibly by sculpting that head first, they were more accustomed to her older facial features…
It’s undeniably Natalie Portman to my eyes, just not from 20 years ago.

I think it’s similarly excellent based on angles and eye placement but again that’s just me. You’re correct about the Hayden my apologies. Removed that part of my comment. My overall point is I think it’s fine to have whatever opinion you want about any sculpt, it’s just weird that people presume that we’re settling if we’re happy with this sculpt.

OSK is the best in the business. I only buy elsewhere if I miss his pre-order window now.
