I believe I was 23 when Forever came out, remember the soundtrack being huge, Jim Carrey being huge, having a small man crush on Val Kilmer (The Doors, Thunderheart, Tombstone, True Romance) - and telling my friend after I saw it that "it was the best one yet."

I might have been high when I saw it.

At the risk of making you feel old my friend.... I was a mere 24 months and 1 day young when this movie premiered.
It would be interesting to see what age ranges we have in this forum! Its nice to think we are all united by this truly odd hobby of ours despite being from different generations and all around the world

I was 16 when BF was released and was pumped by the hype and batmania it created at the time. That I think is still a big part of my soft spot for the film even knowing at the time it was a big step down from the previous two which I loved.

I would never call it a bad film as it knows what it is and what it is trying to do while never apologising for it! Still a lot more fun compared to some Batman films that have been made since.

The Batman is hands down a ‘better movie” than this one, but if you asked me which is more fun to watch I would not hesitate to say Batman Forever. The Batman draaaaaaaaaags.

Gotta say I'm loving the discussion occurring here so far Agree with everything said, it shouldn't matter your sexuality, just as much as it shouldn't matter your race, religion, etc. Interesting how the two people responsible for getting me into my favourite character had this thread in common.

I was also 5 when Batman Forever came out, the promo material for this Movie first got me into batman. The poster is the first thing i think of when I think of Batman. Also had the game on my Sega Genesis. My favourite toy growing up was a kenner transformation batman

Took that thing everywhere, until one day during a play session involving a light bulb as a trap device I left him on there, someone turned on the light, and it melted

I definitely remember those. I was 7.

I think I'm in for Robin. I'm not sure about Batman. Might just stick with Keaton. I'd be more interested in the Panther suit.

I had the transforming Batman figure too and loved it- I was a sucker for figures that transformed between civilian and superhero outfits.

Batman Forever came out when I was just the right age to get into superhero movies (maybe 10 or 11)- Batman 89/Returns were too dark, and I was too young. To this day, the Forever Batmobile and Batwing designs are still my favorite across all the different versions, as weird and campy as they are (I was also a sucker for see-through windows and glowing lights).

I've been on the fence about getting this figure (hoping to see JazzInc take on the Forever Batwing) but am glad to see it turned out so well.

I had one of those and always thought the cowled head looked like Dan Aykroyd.

I was 8 when Forever came out, and like many of you the nostalgia is very strong for me.
I was already a huge Batman fan, having watched the first two movies on VHS dozens of times, watching the animated series, reading the comics, and playing with the Kenner toys.
I went to the US with my family for the first time in the summer of '95 on a 2 month road trip in an RV. So it must've been right after the movie release, but I remember still being surrounded by the movie everywhere. I got some of the toys (I'm pretty sure I lost Two-Face's coin on a ferry to Vancouver) and got the comic to the movie.
For some reason we didn't watch it in the cinema there though, which I finally did on my birthday party after coming back home.
I ended up with most of the Forever toys, including the batmobile and the batwing. And the sonar suit Batman from the 2-pack became my main Batman when playing, because it was finally a "normal" Batman without a weird color scheme, gadget, etc, in a great looking suit to boot.
This was my favorite movie suit until Begins came around, so I'm glad the HT figure turned out so well to do it justice.

Agree. It's of course not fine arts cinema, but to me it is exactly what it aims to be: a no non-sense, fun, part serious, part camp, all-out comic book movie with great visuals. It's very self-aware of this ("holey rusted metal, batman!"), without going too over the top in its camp like B&R did IMO.
There are many movies I loved as a kid that don't hold up to repeat viewings the older I get, but BF is not one of them. Even my wife, who generally doesn't care much for most comic book movies as they are too repetitive and always follow the same formula, quite enjoyed this. It's a movie I still like to watch every couple of years, and I haven't gotten tired of it yet.

^ I feel like BB has that same feel to it. Which is why i like watching that Bale film more than the others. The other 2 try too hard to be serious and dark. Begins is just fun and entertaining. Plus the suit in that is my favorite of bales. The tumbler was also epic. Hearing that thing roar down gotham and just plowing through ****.

Forever has its moments (I was 5 when it came out and was the first Batman film I saw on the big screen). I was in love with the car and the Kenner '95 Batmobile was THEE Christmas gift I got that year...then 6 yo me put the damn thing in the pool and ruined the lights.
...I was a stupid kid.

I PO'd Sonar Suit and considering going in on the JazzInc '95 Batmobile.

I think it's easy to forget how big Batman Forever was in 1995. I remember everyone wanted to get soundtrack album mostly for the U2 and Seal songs and it they were on the radio and TV almost all the time. The film was definitely a hit too and I remember people liking it a lot.

I do believe Batman & Robin turned public opinion against this film as people tend to lump these two together and for the longest time, Batfans would pretend Schumacher ruined Batman despite the fact that he was tasked to make kid friendly films by the studio but spent the remainder of his life repeatedly apologizing to the fans. I think it was kinda cool for nerds (myself included) to trash these films because it somehow gave the impression that you above the material.

Personally, I never hated them and I enjoyed them for what they were-- really colorful, gay, cool, dumb and harmless cartoon films and that's totally fine. While I love my Batman dark and brooding first and foremost, I'd still rather rewatch Forever and B&R over BvS.

I was 16 when it came out and driving myself to the theater for a Batman movie was a milestone. I walked out loving it and I still do. I too already had a man crush on Kilmer and O'Donnell was cool too.

And i agree, that you have to remember this movie was huge. Almost Batman 89 levels of huge. The movie just hit at that right time in my teens.

I got married a few years ago and Kiss from a Rose was our wedding dance song. My wife loves the soundtrack as much as I do.

So basically, I can not wait to get these figures and would love the panther suit also.
