It's a Thursday afternoon and once again, I was bored, so I checked out the latest She-Hulk.

I rolled my eyes really hard again when the show tried to tell us how HARD and DIFFICULT and UNFAIR poor, poor Jen's life is as an attractive single female lawyer. I'd love to whine about how in no universe would a schlubby GUY be ignoring his attractive date to read texts and then stick her with the bill. That's exactly what women do to men. You can't just pretend the universe is Bizarro universe. And the guy being all "grossed out" cause the chick he banged the night before didn't look perfect in the morning? Gimme a friggin' break.

But....I remembered the Cardinal rule of "She-Hulk:" This show is not for me. I wasn't even supposed to be watching this, let alone be critiquing it. This show is for lonely fat women who want to watch the cute girl on TV get turned down by men and think "hey, that's just like my life! Maybe I'm cute, too!"

Men and women are really different. I'll just leave it at that.

I loved the character "Madisynn" cause she was so horrible and obnoxious and loathsome that it's about the only thing in this show that feels "realistic" (unlike Doctor Bodybuilder, the most ridiculous cartoon fantasy character in a universe populated by comic book characters.)

I hope Wong is tapping that. She and Wongers are instantly my favorite Marvel couple.

Well that certainly washed away the bad taste from that horrific twerking from that super unattractive woman.

The actress playing that bimbo should get a freaking oscar holy crap she was perfect and I like that Wong hooked up with a bimbo lol.

Also the bimbo’s resemblance to Elizabeth Olsen was uncanny and I thought the magician was freaking Oscar Isaac!

I think I got distracted by the court scene knowing that none of that would have worked in the real world (I've watched too much Legal Eagle videos). :lol Legal Eagle would probably give this show a failing mark on the legal stuff on his inevitable review. :lol

That said, the rest of the show was fun again this episode. This felt like filler though. I do find it absolutely hilarious that she called Wong "Twitter Armor".

So a few nitpicks here:

1. Single, lonely career-driven women do exist. I have a few friends who are like this. They aren't ugly either. It's just that their careers meant they haven't had the time to get on the dating scene and now find it difficult to find a good date. That said, they are very successful in their careers.

The dating app scene here absolutely reminded me of these friends and the dates shown in this episode do happen.

2. Doctor body builder does exist. My wife is a doctor and she has had a lot of bodybuilder friends from med school. Some of them are exactly as shallow as that guy here.

Oh, OK.

Your doctor wife and your single female lawyer friends obviously are the norm and not outliers in any way, so I'm totally wrong and you're totally right.

My observations are invalid and wrong. I've learned my lesson. I'm so sorry for offending you sir. It won't happen again.

I was stupid to try to join the conversation. So stupid. Damn it.

I'm so sorry. Please tell your wife and your friends how sorry I am. I swear I won't do it again.

Haha no need to be defensive in that way. I meant no offense. Just stating that they do exist so it is not that far off for a show to depict things that way.

S01E04 - "Is This Not Real Magic?"

And yet ANOTHER SUPERB episode. It's just SO on the ball for capturing that "current day" zeitgeist (yeah - I'm gonna have to wash THAT out of my mouth too!) - but via a superhero setting.

The speed-dating (there was LOLS at the "I'm not proud of this" statement) + showing Wong in a comedic yet serious setting + the ditsy drunk lass . . . LOVING THIS!

The writers are doing an amazing job, and I'll say it again - EASILY the best thing to come out of Disney-Marvel TV EVER, and out of Disney-Marvel PERIOD for years.

Maslany is simply amazing - so much so I felt pleased for her when we reached the "Belinda Carlisle" moment, and sad immediately afterwards.

And I think I'm developing a crush on She-Hulk! - darn is she cute!

Good so I wasn’t the only one

Plus, am I the only person who gets incessant joy from this? I want to believe that the jump itself wasn’t sfx.

Didn't get either of those - but DID think that one of her dates as She-Hulk looked a lot like Elon Musk (hey - if his next kid has a slightly lime-green hue - well - that's all the proof I'LL need!)

.

If they wanted us to believe that Jen Walters isn’t desirable the they probably shouldn’t have cast such a conventionally attractive actress in the role :lol

My favourite episode of the series so far! Perfect balance of legal She-Hulk, smash She-Hulk, and trying-to-live-as-normal-a-life-as-possible She-Hulk.

Madisynn is a great character haha.

I also thought she was Elizabeth Olsen at first!
