Big, fat meh. My god what is wrong with me!?!

As an aside, if this doesn't have the exact same satin red paint as the other Mk7, HT are dumber than I thought they were.

I feel like I shouldn’t be surprised but I still am. What are we doing here Hot Toys…I know they sell well but why are we adding to the insane production list with this. :hammerhead:

Wait, was there a time jump in Iron Man 3 that I'm forgetting about? He's using the VII as of that diner scene with Rhodey - what number is the next suit he uses in that film again?

Chinese market. Thats why! Folks here gotta remember the USA isnt the only country they sell to.
yup! There's a 3rd Party company called RD Studio that's been making unofficial versions of these type "open armors" for a couple of years now who charages about $400-$500 per armor. So it makes sense that HT would want in on that action.

Yup, here's some review playlist for folks who want to see more. Scroll to the actual RD Studios videos.

In the 6 months between Avengers and Iron Man 3, Tony was obsessively building new armors for any situation he could think of. The main suit he uses in the movie is mark 42. He takes 7 out to grab dinner because I think it was the last “general purpose” armor and 42 was not quite ready to use around innocent bystanders, I assume.

This hot toys release is kinda hilarious. I wish they had included a Tony Stark 2.0 figure.

I find it funny that they bothered doing this and yet the suit barely opens from the knee down so Tony wouldn't be able to "step into it" like he does in that Iron Man 3 scene anyway. You don't really see it opening fully from the knee down in the movie either (it cuts away just as that part is opening - see below at the 45 second mark) but it would have to fold down completely (or part-way then swing open to the side) in order for him to step in. If the HT release did that I'm sure it would have been highlighted in their pictures. I suppose they could add that for the production version but I wouldn't hold my breath lol.

So, uh, shouldn’t this be moved from “action figures” to “statues & props”?
