I think the Old western theme for Mandalorian is what worked for the show..It gave Faveru a base where the main character could have any kind of a plot in an episode that seems like a fresh and New concept while still entertaining because Mando is a loner traveling the galaxy which doesn’t tie into the lore of any SW cinematic trilogy. So pretty much there wasn’t any high expectations from the viewers coming into..Whatever story or visuals they decided to do in an episode either worked or it didn’t.

Mando was lightning in a bottle. It's brilliance surprised us all. Can't see Disney ever topping Mando with any future series.

I used to visit LA all the time back in the 80's/90's and early 2000's and got to become very acquainted with those "Obi-Wan hills" off the freeways and outside the city, lol.

The location of their final battle has leaked…

IMO it just lacked the use of a lightsaber for the hero..of course it isn’t what the Mandalorian is about but in SW you kind of need the main hero to have a lightsaber to make it completely feel like a SW project . but in some aspect, maybe that’s what made the show unique as well.

I feel they are going to muck it up somehow because they will try too hard to reference RO because they want to entertain the fan base

The problem so far with the series tying to this infamous Obi conversation moment is a bad reference..seems Luke is irreverent at this point of the show and there is no sign of Owen detesting the saber other than telling Obi to leave Luke alone. It’s really hard tying elements of ANH to this series..It’s just not working in some situations and IMO they tried too hard to create continuity with ANH but it’s just not messing well in certain areas..my assumption is the material used in ANH is just too old

I’m hoping there is at least one more episode dealing with LUke and Owen in some capacity upcoming or Chow really blew it tying to huge moments of references and continuity withLuke’s life in ANH

Not to mention Luke's being irrelevant and things not meshing well with ANH lol. Auto-correct sucks, doesn't it?

It’s not Disney’s MO to leave it alone at that though..we know they will keep cramming references to RO somehow throughout the entire series making the continuity suffer as it already has with Obi Wan

I know what you mean however the pulse blaster was a worthy weapon. Sad to see it go.
