Not me. I'm still really looking forward to it, i knew it was going to be a very long wait
We all preordered this under the assumption that HT would ensure the utmost care and attention to detail in putting out the final Iron Man armor, but there's no guarantee of that anymore.

So to me, this is a risky preorder and the fact that it's been delayed, for who knows how long, due to the public outcry of, what is perceived to be, inferior quality is quite troubling

It's because of this that I think it's worth holding on to. If they are delaying it due to public reaction to the prototype, then it's highly likely they are making improvements to fix this.

I ignore the public, i'll decided myself. I have well over 50 (maybe 60 soon) Iron man/war machine figures and have only been disappointed with one. They have an excellent track record with the armors.. I just received the Endgame Patriot and it's incredible. So i'm not worried about the final product.

Yeah, I tend to agree that they'll improve the battle damage before releasing the production version. I'm more looking at my shelf and realizing that I have Mark 50, Custom Tony in his IW Track Suit, Mark 85 and Team Suit Tony. Do I really need Tony snapping as well? Maybe... Clearly if you have 50 then he's to you what Boba Fett is to me, so can totally see you adding it. And yes, EG Patriot is outstanding!

Delaying to me is a good sign. Means anything that might have been a shortcut (Stark Headsculpt) is getting address ahead of time. I rather wait and extra few months to get something that is centerpiece worthy.

I wish Hot Toys was a little more transparent to give a little peace of mind to waiting buyers. Meaning they can give updates on “improvements” and not having people just hope that they make fixes. I remember during the long wait for the Justice League Superman, a lot of people were assuming they were fixing the hair part in the headsculpt and then it came out with no “fixes”.

$120 probably to the development of the likeness/headsculpt. That’s about how much people would resell the headsculpt for.
the variable tooling and materials cost for a trash head sculpt is the same as for a perfect head sculpt. the fixed cost of sculpting likely isn't much different either, only revisions bump that up unless you are paying a fixed rate for a head and the artist bares the cost for revisions. Either way, making figures with great headsculpts will not cost much more than ones with trash sculpts unless you are cheaping out on paint.

I mean it's quite clear that they delayed this to improve the battle damage effect compared to that soft mess we saw at one of the conventions this past year.

Can only hope that the release production is worth it but at least we know it's delayed for a good reason.

Well that's the assumption at least. But I'm with you. It must surely be that, and at this point I'd prefer to wait a little for a hopefully superior product.

I mean if they are going to give a figure justice (on which they have built their whole company essentially) it should be to this final Ironman !

I passed on the regular '85 way back when and I don't mind that, this is still the one I wants from that movie. I wasn't a big fan of these later armor designs so am really just getting it for that snap scene and to represent that.

imagine no improvements are made when this guy releases oof
That's what I'm thinking. Let it get delayed until people don't care anymore.

Of course, I doubt they'll do that since it'll cause a big backlash for them but as it was mentioned, I think I don't really care for this as much as before. That holo shield will probably be that thin plastic film that was used on the neon tech 4.0.

Yeah I can see why some do not prefer the more 'organic' looking armors. While I do like them, I really like the earlier, more robotic looking armors much more. The 45 is my favorite of the organic armors and the 46 is a great blend of streamlined and robotic aesthetics.

The Mark 7 Die-cast is one of my favorite figures. That definitely captures the man in a suit of armor look. I like the 85 much more than the 50 because it was bulked up a bit so kind of a hybrid look be iron suit and nano-tech...

Agreed! The Mark VII is my favorite IM armor thus far, and the diecast is my favorite 1/6 IM figure.

I just want the battle damage to look closer to the plastic mark 6 in detail, rather than the soft damage we saw from that convention prototype that looked like the mattel battle armor he-man with the chest piece that flipped over to show two "cuts".

Has anyone tried to contact Hot Toys or Sideshow? I mean they may have a more accurate date of the release
