WTF?

People are live streaming Disney's Twitter account? WTF?

While the longer version is nice I do prefer the impact of the shorter version.

One thing this highlights for me, the speech by Obi-Wan always had me think that Anakin and Owen grew up together, and that Anakin was like Luke and looking to the stars where Owen was committed to life on Tattooine, and that Anakin left one day because he had an opportunity to be a part of the bigger world he dreamt of. Anakin's story as told in the prequels doesn't really line up with this summary given to Luke.

It looks like fire behind them, not lava. Maybe Vader will get burned again. :lol

I was hoping they didn't have Obi and Vader fighting in this show because it would further diminish their fight in ANH. Their fight in ANH was already underwhelming by today's standards, but now having them in what I'm guessing is going to be a spectacle of a match, it will not only make their final battle in ANH even more dated by comparison, but also not matter as much because it will no longer be the first time they see each other since Ep 3, when Anakin died and became Vader.

It looks like a desperate attempt to get people watching just like how Star Trek Discovery brought back Mr. Spock.
Bingo.

Vader's dialogue in ANH when he says "The circle is now complete" has more weight and significance if that was their first encounter since Kenobi left Anakin for dead. This was now *finally* the opportunity for a reckoning.

But if that Death Star duel was their *second* since Mustafar, then not only does the scene lose contextual value, but it also means that Vader wasn't good at geometry ...or maybe he just knew that "The triangle is now complete" doesn't have the same ring to it.

Disney is going to have Obi and Vader playing chess matches like Magneto and Xavier in every X Men film.

would Old Ben really not make another attempt to access the Anakin he once knew?

Also, if anyone is looking for someone, it's Vader, looking for Obi to kill him. Vader during this time period is supposed to be at his most savage and ruthless. The guy is freshly burned and pissed, so he's like Jason Voorhees going after every Jedi that's left. That's the whole reason Obi went and hid in some ***** planet. A planet he knew Vader wouldn't go back to. The show could tease a fight or the idea of Vader getting closer to catching Ben, building up the suspense and tension and their inevitable meeting in ANH, but if they're just having them fight again it's because of fan service, because it's "too cool" to pass up. They should get Snyder to direct the show while they're at it. They should keep Vader away from Ben and just have Vader kill and fight other people. Maybe, have them connect telepathically at some point.

Disney doesn't understand this, and will not respect it.
My guess is Vader will not go back to Tatooine, but Ben will leave the planet and go on some mission to help someone, maybe other jedi. So if Vader and Ben fight again, it will be in some other planet. I'm sure the "force" will be looking out for Luke during these Obi adventures.

I could see Vader setting foot on Tatooine in the show at some point. He's never been seen on a desert planet. I wouldn't put it past Disney. (Honestly, I really don't care)

That said, I agree the show will focus on Ben leaving Tatooine to go on missions elsewhere of course... which will intersect with Vader's hunt for the 'last' Jedi.

But what if this show ends up being otherwise really really good in your estimation? Will you be able excuse it for not jibing with that line of dialogue? Especially if it smooths over other issues of Lucas failing to properly connect ROTS with all the details of that era given in ANH.

Star Wars was always just an expensive cartoon and Disney has sucked any heart it may have once had bone dry. It's the way of things and I'm at peace with it.

We know all roads lead to Tatooine and we'll see Vader there at some point. They already did it in the trash comics.

Everyone catch Lucas’s comment in the Boba Fett doc about the holiday special:

“Later THEY were doing this holiday special”

and

“there wasn’t much of OUR INVOLVEMENT.”

Umm sure George if you say so lol
