Then let it go? No need to keep saying this over and over again.
I'm just saying it to explain it to you, and to reply a repetition statement by Sassafras. :)
You got problem with me replying something he said over and over again, but not with him?
Mitraheroe also repeating similar sentences like this, about ending the relationship with asmus.. but you seem to only have problem with me saying it..

Do you have personal issue with me?
Or does it hurt you personally if I keep saying it?
If so, then I'm sorry. :)

Also, I've let it go, no worries.
Just cancelled my Gollum. Feelin much better now.

I wonder why Asmus just didn't send everyone an Arwen in the regular art box and for deluxers send out the furniture in the white shipper. This has been done in the past by Sideshow long ago with their deluxe Raiders Belloq and Toht. Didn't Asmus do that with the Legolas Troll head?
Exactly!

That was exactly my point. We are here quarreling with each other when the responsible for this is Asmus and only Asmus for not finding a reasonable solution, such as: sending a regular Arwen plus extra furniture in an extra shipper.
Asmus seems not care much though...

Something worse does not justify something inherently bad.

No, but it would depend on what you view as inherently bad. I enjoy box art, but then the box goes back into the shipper and then to a closet. Inherently bad for me was something like the squashed head Saruman. :horror

Touche.
What goes around comes around.. I hope they make things right with this issue.

I wonder why Asmus just didn't send everyone an Arwen in the regular art box and for deluxers send out the furniture in a separate white box/shipper. This has been done in the past by Sideshow long ago with their deluxe Raiders Belloq and Toht. Didn't Asmus do that with the Legolas Troll head?
Asmus also sent out the Galadriel figure in an art box and the mirror accessory in a separate art box so there’s already a history of them doing exactly that.

Man, you took that way too seriously.

Well, I don't know you, you might be very sensitive, so I just want to make sure that we're all good, since you took issue only with me saying it.
I was literally on the same page with you telling Sassafras he’s coming off as a shill for defending them so hard.

You seem more sensitive than I do considering I agreed with you and you liked my post, but then said I was sensitive as soon as I disagreed with you.

Let’s all relax. I don’t find anyone on this board unbearable except that one dingus on the Gunslinger board.

Everyone breathe.

Always two sides to every story. At the end of the day it’s just opinion so no need for anyone to escalate anything. Asmus had issues and they could have fixed the issue or resorted to the Galadriel solution but didn’t budget for it. That’s on them but I can also appreciate what they do get right and their love for the LOTR franchise. We haven’t had much LOTR for a while until Diamond Select and Asmus so there’s going to be some people who give these companies more leeway, regardless of it’s warranted or not.

Only you can make that determination for your collection. I’m not sure how telling someone you cancelled a preorder because of their words is productive or conducive to discussion. Sure it may be a joke but in context and the back and forth conversation it does appear retaliatory, especially since it’s focused at one particular person. I still expect more from Asmus and hope they learn their lesson, if they don’t then that may cost them in the long run since they depend on customer loyalty with these small batches.

Hey man, I am all relax here.. Thats why I tried to put down any disturbance. If you're annoyed with me keep repeating stuffs, I say sorry.
Chill. Everything's good. :)

And I said that you might be very sensitive, I'm not sure, since I don't know you. I said that not because you disagreed with me, but because you complained about things I said over and over again, where the other members did the same, but you took issue only with me.

I too didn't find any issue with anyone here (even sassafras, he's just a huge asmus fanboy, and nothing is wrong with that), other than asmus itself.
For me, asmus has to be responsible for what they did to the customers who expected the artbox.

Oh no, that is not a joke. Somehow, me being disappointed with what Asmus did, and seeing that person's argument just strengthen my opinion that asmus can do more mistakes that will disappoint me further. So I decided to cancel it, in order to keep myself from being disappointed again. Nothing is retaliatory, as the person won't lost anything if I cancelled my order. It won't affect anyone other than asmus and me. I just want to save my money for better products. As simple as that.

I think this is what we all need to agree upon.

Asmus is not as good as Hot Toys.
Asmus is not as bad as Star Ace.
Asmus has made good improvements.
Asmus still has work to do.

Nothing so egregious has happened that people should be boycotting Asmus yet. A few more major issues can change that story.

Nothing so fantastic has happened that Asmus should be off the hook for the recent hiccups they’ve had. A few flawless releases in a row can change that.

If anyone wants to cancel - it’s justified. Keeping your order - also justified. But let’s not act like they are holy or evil either way. That’s just not fair.

Now make a flawless Eowyn and Haldir and win the community back.

I agree on all points. 👍

And I do hope they do something about the dx Arwen, at least for me, to close my journey with asmus.
Furthermore, I also hope they will never do the same mistakes again, for all of you who are still supporting them. :)

As things stand right now - there are a few LOTR characters I feel I NEED to have in my display that I do not have already, including Aragorn, Eowyn, Haldir, Boromir, and Thranduil. I will support any future releases.

There are some LOTR characters I WANT to have in my display that I do not already have, including Bilbo, Frodo, Samwise, Gamling, Faramir, and Lurtz. I will not support any future releases until they have regained my trust.

Everyone's mileage will vary in this hobby. On everything - positive and negative. Seeing all the differing perspectives is actually one of the things I find most fascinating about collecting. It would be a dull world if everyone responded identically.

As with every choice made by a company, there will be a wide rainbow of responses on this box issue. On one end there are folks (like me) who shrug it off as a curious omission but are otherwise unfussed ... and on the other, there are folks who see it as an absolute deal-breaker. Both positions are legit. As long as we keep the discussion civil. And understand that both positions are legit. Some things will matter more to one person than another and vice-versa.

The majority of customers will likely fall somewhere between those two poles, but we probably won't hear from most of them because they're not all posting to message boards. Certainly not this one, where we only hear consistently from a few dozen regulars.

The one thing I will always try to avoid, though, is ascribing any motives to Asmus' team. I don't have any idea what sort of financial or calendar pressures they're under. So I really have no idea why certain decisions get made and why certain other ones don't. So I'm not going to tell them what they must or must not do business-wise. I can tell them when I'm disappointed, of course. And have. On a number of occasions. But I'm not going to pretend that I know the first thing about running a toy company or dealing with factories or shippers or schedules or international logistics ...

All I know is, of the dozens of Middle-Earth figures I've purchased from this line, there are only a couple that never made it out of the box and into my display (original GTG, GTW, Saruman, Ringwraith on Steed). So for me, their batting average is pretty good and I'm pulling for them.

Your mileage may vary. As it should.

I don't have Aragorn yet, and would love to have his figure!
I'll just wait till other company made him, I'll take my chances as he's one of the main characters. You'll never know in this world of collecting.

Hind sight being 20/20 I wouldn’t be surprised if they wish they had. Thats probably the option that would have made the most sense but this thread would be a lot shorter then.
