Which is pretty nuts considering all of the prototypes they just showed off at that Sideshow booth. It's not like it was one or two characters, it was a ton. Very odd for them to show that magnitude of stuff and then just stop with the line.

I think they're just busy getting unmasked heads like Cobb and Fennec approved, pics for preorders being taken etc etc

That is something Hot Toys should stop doing. It's not like being a museum where people pay a ticket to see the exhibits, but they cannot buy the items shown there. It's similar to what EFX Collectibles did as well...

They probably do it to gauge interest, so that they can not make the characters that people want.

I also think that’s why they do it. I think they have figures they know they’re making and figures they’re interested in making based on reception and feedback at events. But without any connection to Star Wars fans outside of Asia (where Star Wars is actually popular) for the last two years, it’s no surprise some of these prototypes are stuck in purgatory.

Funny, I have a friend at work who think my toy collecting is hilarious. She always asks about what I bought and how I set up my display. I showed her the milk carton and she said that someone should make a prototype video just like the missing kids in the soul asylum runaway train video from years ago. All the missing prototypes like baze and Death Star trooper with the date of the first con they were shown, set just like the video. That would be hysterical.
