I think the lighter satin finish looks alot better though. I'm just sad that the previous diecast Marks don't have the same finish. Out of the original seven, I think the Mk. V is the only one that looks good with that glossy cherry red. That's just me though.

I definitely believe the satin finish on this helps it 'stand out' amongst the other armors.

The glossy look does suit the more organic suits too, something about that almost liquid look.

With the shoulder joints being rubber is it possible the paint fades like the waist piece did on the original mark 7?

The rubber pieces are hidden by the armor (gray areas in pics below), so it really shouldn't be an issue. I don't think they're even painted.

Yep, no question it’s the Mk. VII and that scene was the reason why HT’s was showing off the prototype “opened armor” Mk. VII at a ton of cons years back and SSC only just removed it from their coming soon page this year.

Wait, really? How long ago was this teased? I've been following HT for 4 years now and I never head about the "opened ammor" prototype???

I was so onboard for the opened VII. Sad that it never saw the light of day. It was part of their diorama series like the Mk III torso and the workshop accessories. Still waiting on Jack, Piston, Nightclub and the rest of the boys too.

That open suit seems like something they will eventually release. Just they?re trying to get the marketing right so they can profit off this full version and the unreleased one.

If I was a company I?d release the latest version first then the open one. [emoji51][emoji106]

Hope someone can shed some more light on those rubber sections when they receive the figure. My only hang up with this figure so far, very annoying.

Nah. It's just Hot Toys being Hot Toys. They showed the prototype model years ago, they've probably already forgot about it by now. Sideshow even wiped it from their website.

Hey give you hope and you **** on me..? Why? [emoji23]

Lol, sorry but it's true. Hot Toys always makes stuff like this for fun/coverage at conventions with no intention of releasing them. I mean, this was shown YEARS ago, I have no doubt they completely forgot about it.

Somebody mentioned the open armour to JC Hong and he said (translated by FB) "I'm a little curious too... lol I need to ask the company"

I think the open armour will get done. The MK VII looks like it?s going to sell extremely well, fans love this suit, it?s a cool concept.....it?s gonna happen.

Comparison video is up by Justin. Lol the heights are all over the place, sadly.

I'm assuming he will make another one later comparing it against all the other diecast Marks.

Yeah the Mark VII is towering over all the other figures for the most part in that video. Seems as if folks will have to get creative with displaying the figures together in varying poses to minimize some of the height differences. I do have the Mark II, but definitely not getting that Mark III (had the Mark II on PO so just rode it out). Hopefully that one can get revisited. I'll have to see about picking up the 1/4 scale one instead. Now if HT would so kindly announce an updated Mark I so I can take a figure break.
