I'll tell you about the time I saw him in concert and his brothers band supported him. His brother was better. Maybe I'll tell you later.

I never liked Stevie Ray Vaughan. Or Eric Clapton. Or Carlos Santana. But I'd just about kill to have heard Zappa or Hendrix live.

I was lucky enough to see Zappa once. It was an amazing show. Sadly it was his last tour.

I would also like to add Dimebag, Slash and Angus Young to my list of favs, rock/metal favs anyway.

I think Slash could play blues with more balls than anyone in the past thirty years. The only other person who comes close is Kirk Hammett.

If I was going just by favorites, I'd put John Lennon at the top. He wasn't better than Zappa or Hendrix, but in a lot of ways, I'd rather hear him play.

Glenn Schwartz is

Former lead guitarist of The James Gang, then Joe Walsh stepped in. Hendrix wanted him to play at his last birthday party.

It's gotta be between Buckethead & Eddie Van Halen. Those guys are on a whole different level than everybody else.

Anybody ever heard Fernando Miyata?

no such thing as "the best guitar player"...

why not ask, "who has the best mother?"

i will say Ace Frehley was the most influential guitar player in my life...

Malmsteen is awesome

Hendrix would probably get the nod.

John Frusciante from the RHCP is really good and never gets respect.

But do any of the newer bands have good guitar players or are those days over.
