Or even The Bigs? I mean I can appreciate the beauty and realism of something like The Show but I remember a time when I was able to buy a baseball sim and a really good arcadey baseball game every season! This way I had the best of both worlds every year now it just seems likwe have no options besides The Show or 2K (which isn't even an option cuz it always sucks every year so I'm just left with The Show. I don't like it taking me 6 innings to just maybe get a hit or make a homerun every tenth game! Somtimes it seem less like fun and more like work! I can appreciate the realism and I know you can adjust the difficulty settings but I still feel like they should go back to making less technical, really fun, pick up and play baseball game. If Bases Loaded was as hard as The Show basesball games wouldn't have gotten very far in this industry.

Any thoughts?

My brother and I used to have Bases Loaded for the NES when I was a kid. It was pretty fun.

For me, the greatest baseball game was N64's....

Major League Baseball featuring Ken Griffey Jr.

The first video below is the opening title theme, and the second is a review from gamer who highlights to a 'T' why this was and still is the best in its genre. :rock

Oh, the memories....

Baseball all stars for the nes was awesome one of the first awesome baseball games...but i also really liked bases loaded and the original baseball was fun for the nes as well.

All these games were so much fun. Modern companies need to go back to the simple mechanics these games used.

I still play MVP on the PC. The mod communities aren't quite as busy as they used to be, but there's still plenty of quality stuff being made.

I think the problem is that games these days target a world-wide audience. Baseball is stille mainly a US thing. So it will be hard to sell in the EU or Asian markets.

Baseball is hardly just a "US thing". It's pretty ingrained into the culture in Latin America and Asian countries, especially Japan.

The games are all way too hard. Thats the problem.

I'm a big fan of Bases Loaded on the NES. Not too difficult.

A fun game for the Wii a few years ago was MLB Power Pros. Felt a lot like the older nintendo games.

THIS was baseball :yess::lol

Ironic then, that my favorite baseball video game series, Jikkyō Powerful Pro Yakyū, has been a Japan-only affair for many, many years. We finally got 2 releases in the US as "MLB Power Pros" and "MLB Power Pros 2008" on the Wii, but I haven't heard a word about future US releases since then... :monkey2

edit: Prog knows what I'm talking about!

I need to get 08. I'm sure they programmed the Rockies to be a lot better that year than the previous version.
