All those versions and they're not even releasing one in 12". Damn shame, but at least it won't be 5" like Todd originally implied.

Looking forward to the Kickstarter going up, then we can hopefully make sense of which head(s) come with which figure. :lol

lol

Yeah real shame no 12 inch would?ve made this really special.

But i?ll still buy whatever it is that he is pimping here lol

Kickstarter is live. Each figure comes with only one head. If you want more than one head, you need to buy more than one figure. The $160 autographed three-pack is the only way to get the screaming hamburger head and Simmons head, but it doesn't look like it will include the shoelace head from the individual Modern version.

Direct distribution ought to be cheaper than selling to stores, yet he's charging $40 (plus $17 shipping) for some pretty bare-bones figures. Hope the paintjob is killer, but I doubt the toy itself will be anything beyond what we're used to seeing from McFarlane.

If there's any value for the money here, it will be due to appreciation post-campaign, not the actual product. 30 minutes in and the pledge goal has almost been doubled.

I?m content with just the classic.

If you are a Spawn fan at a minimum the classic is a must own just for that cape alone even if only 7 inches. In a way that cape more than makes up for it.

I definitely don?t have the shelf space for three identical figures with just a head and color swap especially with an expanding cape lol

Still though even at $57 still a must own.

Would love to get the classic, but $57 is steep for a 7" figure that will be the same as the DC/MK $20-$25 figures. The big cape doesn't add enough value to double the price.. Maybe I'll just get the MK Spawn.

Hummmm.... $160 for all 3. Thats a lot but having all 3 would be cool. Hummmmm.

Is he actually gonna sign all those or is his signature just tampoed? It'd be damn cool to have a real Todd autograph, even on that dumb piece of cardboard.

I'm sure he will sign them. He has a long time to be abe to do them.

I was never even that huge a Spawn fan, but the figure (statue) looks really nice and for $40, an authentic Todd McF autograph? I have a feeling I'll be getting one before this is over.

Look at those numbers go insane just in the first hour or two. Wow.

Supposedly this will have over 20 points of articulation. Will look a little odd with the lean in the torso unless it's posed like the prototype, but that's McFarlane for you.

Went in for the Classic, will monitor to see if any extra features are added between now and the end of the campaign.

I have his autograph on the Grey Hulk Poster he did in the 80's. I have it hanging on my wall and it is still a favorite piece of mine. I will have to get the classic Spawn figure as I collected the comic the first 5 years it was out and got the figures up through Wetworks. Figure looks great but a 12 inch figure with that cape would be epic.

This looks like a statuesque piece. Pass for me as we got a ton of those. The articulation is pointless if you can't use it properly.

From the video it should have quite a lot of articulation. Not sure what type of articulation will be at the waist or hips, but kinda pointless to have double hinged knees and no pin/disk or ball hips. But damn $57 for one figure! It'd be nice to have his signature, but I'd rather have it on a comic.

He said explicitly in the video that he's hand signing them, for the price he better.

Definitely will get classic spawn though i like modern spawn also the figure is just repainted without any different armour pieces like what modern spawn has. So I'll stick to classic, will these figures have articulation it would be pretty dumb to just give us the basic articulation like the old one which was 5 points.

Well, I'm getting the classic Spawn.

McFarlane Toys has released an update ahead of their Kickstarter Campaign going live. They are looking to crowdfund a fully remastered version of the original Spawn action figure, along with a completely redrawn Spawn #1 by Todd McFarlane. The details have confirmed this will be an articulated 7″ scale action figure. They specifically mention it will be ?more than double what the original toy had?. The figure will include four interchangeable portraits, a gun, and a club. There will be three versions available. Those include a Classic Costume Version, a Modern Costume Version, and an Artist Proof Black and White Version. You will also be able to back a 3-Pack featuring all three versions. The packaging will be a collector friendly resealable shell box.
The figures are priced at $50 each, with a special $85 version including an autographed Todd McFarlane placard. The campaign begins at some point today. Keep an eye on the official The Original SPAWN Action Figure & Comic Remastered (2020) Kickstarter Page for when the campaign goes live. If any additional info is launched with the campaign, we?ll add it to this post. Check out full details and some photos and 3D renders after the jump.

SPAWN MASTERWORKS ? The ORIGINAL Comic & Toy Re-Mastered
Description:
In 1992 the very first Spawn comic book hit the shelves setting a sales record for an independent. A few years later in 1995, the first Spawn action figure was released to critical acclaim and helped usher in a whole new way of giving you detail and ?art? to your action figures.
Now, twenty-five years later, Todd MacFarlane is joining forces with Kickstarter to help deliver an updated version of that original 1995 toy & comic release. This figure will be 7 inches tall and come with a huge folding cape and weapon. The articulation in this version will be more than double what the original toy had, and the included comic will be re-drawn by the international award-winning artist and creator of the Spawn character, Todd McFarlane.
As well, this new remastered version will come in its own box with slipcover to help preserve the condition of the figure, comic and packaging. And speaking of the actual blister packaging, it will mimic the original design from the classic toy of 1995, though upgrades will be all across the final product.
A new resealable shell will be used so that you may take out you figure and comic for display, but also be able to return them both into their packaging like you have never opened it in the first place!
Finally, if you choose, you can get an autograph by Todd McFarlane himself. Todd will be personally signing a name plate that can be used for display with your comic and toy. And each autographed item will also come with a bonus weapon: A reimagining of the wooden plank weapon from that original Spawn figure from 1995.
To simplify this offering, there will be only four levels: A CLASSIC costume version. A MODERN costume version (with new head), an ARTIST PROOF (what we?re calling the ?black & white) and lastly the 3-PAK bundle which will include a Classic, Modern and Black & White figure. The latter two figure getting new head sculpts!)
The first three levels will be offered with or without an autograph while the 3-Pak will only be offered with an autograph. And each of the single figures will have a NEW never seen before covers drawn by Todd McFarlane himself.
This is your chance to get in on history as it repeats itself in this remastered version of the character and toy that helped changed the industry of action figures itself.
Figure Price:
$50 for articulated Spawn figure, weapon, and premium box
$85 for Todd McFarlane signed placard, Spawn articulated figure, weapon, and premium box
Fulfillment:
Shipping in the Continental U.S. will be FREE.
This Kickstarter offering is accepting international orders. Additional shipping will be added to total depending on where a customer?s international destination is located.

Looking good!!!!

Todd mentioned that the modern version is more like the movie costume where the classic has the original smooth look but I just don?t see it in those photos both bodies look identical to me lol

Both look original classic smooth. :dunno

I’m sure there is more going on here with using kickstarter than just getting Spawn toys into our grubby hands.

This is all probably connected with his new movie project as well from gauging interest for financiers, marketing and securing up front capital as well.

Good I want him to succeed Todd is the man the real ambassador and successor to Stan Lee.

I didn't see a link to the Kickstarter page, apologies if it was.

Thought this was an interesting comparison on the page - the video with the blow-apart rendering of what the articulation is really was helpful to see what it was that they improved upon.

What I'm running into is that I want the Classic, Modern (stitched / hamburger head) and screaming versions, but the 3-pack comes with the original Al Simmons head, need to mull it over.

So now that it's funded by some insane percentage...with 28 days still left, I wonder if they will do this for other figures

Al Simmons head is a big who cares.

Who in their right mind would ever display their Spawn collectible with a clean Al Simmons head on a Spawn costumed body.

Hamburger head yes human head no.

The articulation for this reimagined figure doesn?t make a lick of sense either lol
