To me Dusty is a must have, he was part of my Christmas of 86' pile of JOES I got in one package. Back to back bubbles in all about 10 awesome JOES. :( He was a staple in any Joe collection.

I understand where you're coming from, but there's a lot of stuff like Dusty missing from my list of must-have Joes:

Short Fuze
Rock n Roll
Breaker
Scarlett
Doc
Wild Bill
Roadblock
Barbecue
Mutt & Junkyard
Spirit

Still very unsure of the need for this figure, since he doesn't really fit in with the rest. I guess the same will be said about Snowjob when he is released.

I understand your point... I think it's because he is the first of the environmental joes to be released, and the there have by and large been in the "green" family. I think once others like Snow Job, etc. are released, the diversity amongst them will be incredibly interesting as a collection.

Yup would like to see all of those.

well... I agree as far as ethnicity and what not. I'm just saying PERSONALLY on my shelf I like all the characters to fit in. For instance, all my SW characters are sorted by the scene they are in. I don't have Lando hanging out with Ben Kenobi for example.

To me, Dusty seems out of place with the rest of the characters due to the outfit. I have a hard time imagining Dusty on an anti-terrorism mission along side Flint, Duke and Beachhead.

I want you guys to talk me out of it, but you aren't really providing any good evidence. :)

You have to change your perspective. Instead of looking for the uniforms to match, you have to allow for the fact that GI Joe has to fight Cobra in all environments. Duke, Hawk, and Flint are examples of command, so they are not equipped for a given specialty. Dusty is a desert specialist so his uniform and gear reflect that. Same with Stalker being a Jungle specialist, Snow Job being a Cold environment specialist, Wetsuit being a marine specialist etc., etc. Your perspective has to include the necessity to have specialists in different areas.

Soon I hope. I'm going through withdrawals.

Yup. Dusty in June, and Stalker in July, and Desert Sniper, Cobra Viper and Hawk are all slated for 3rd Quarter 2011...but I'd expect some delay on at least one of those 3Q 2011 guys. After all, Stalker was initially 2nd Quarter, but now he's set to ship in July, which puts him in the first month of 3Q 2011.

I am now totally jonesing for Dusty. My back yard will be the perfect place to get some great shots of him. And when the desert sniper shows up...it'll be that much better.

BRING ON DUSTY!

My son is playing some on-line war game with a friend of his from school. He recently aquired a FAMAS rifle in the game and now it is his favorite weapon on earth. And when he told me about it, the prevailing thought in my head was: "Sideshow's Dusty figure has one of those! Wait until he sees THAT!".

Site says June. Bet he ships before the CC PF sells out!!

:lol Going out on a limb there eh, EF? The eventual Hot Toys Indy DX will ship, the Christopher Reeve Superman & Keaton Batman figures will finally be shown and Gentle Giant will complete their line of retro 12" Kenner figures before the CC PF sells out. :lol

In keeping with my tradition of outfitting my Joes with an extra assault rifle, I've got a desert camo M4 ready for Dusty to go with his FAMAS.
