removing a head off the body

Hey guy im a complete newb and thinking about getting into customizing and painting. ANwyays i have a bespin luke i want to take his head off the body is there a special i can do this? or do you guys just pull really hard?

use a blowdryer to soften the plastic. I have sometimes had to use a knife (or a meatcleaver LOL) to get in between the neck and body to peel it off.
 
Here is what I do:

Fill a microwavable cup with water and put in the microwave for 2 minutes.

Remove the cup from the microwave and stick the figure's head and neck area (preferable to the sholders) into the water.

Let it sit for about a minute and then the head should come off easily with minimal force. Sometimes there is a a "pop" when the head comes off, thus the name of the technique is known as the "boil and pop" method.

If the head doesn't come off, reheat the water another 30 seconds or so and repeat until the head does come off.
