Agreed, the film just doesn't have the edge that 89' does, it tries with the gross gags etc, but it only hurts it. Penguin is also a cheesefest but I can look over that because of how the entire film presesnts itself as a whole. Decent Burton movie, ok batflick.

was my GF's first time watching it last night, and when the zombie cats came out she litterally lol'd. :lol

:rotfl zombie cats.

Funny you mention that, my now wife loves the film since she grew up with it and loves Michelle as Catwoman. I think having her a psycho made it work, just her creation is questionable. But, it fits Burton's formula, at least back then in his films.

I grew up with it too, more than the 89... but as I got older and saw it more, the original will probably always have the top position for me in Batfilms. The suit, the subtle Batvoice, the car, the dirty scary city that isn't Chicago and that Elfman soundtrack. It's great.

That's the thing, if I ever gave a rating for TFA (not sure I did) it would probably have dropped now once I allowed my own issues and other people's issues to gestate.
I'm optimistic about this one though. I can't think of anything I'd change, there wasn't anything that pissed me off.

I do think it's interesting that a prequel film that we already knew the outcome to brought more "new" stuff to the table than TFA, a sequel with no limit to the things they could introduce. I guess LFL moved quickly on the "forward" part of "going back to go forward."

Yeah it's only natural to have a drop off after fully processing a film. In the same hand it can also go up, like my appreciation for T1 over T2, but that's a whole other can of worms. Although, not as volatile conversation as a Star Wars one can be.

I've no beef with anyone saying T1 or Alien are better than their sequels. Only if they say that T2 or Aliens suck will they witness the power of my fully armed and operational nerd rage.

That's just nonsense. I just find it very telling how well received they are that they're in a constant battle for being the better film.

I'll say that T2 compliments T1 much better than Aliens to Alien. So with that being said, I find T2 the better sequel. But I love me some Aliens.

I have to agree. The resistance against the First Order is just the rebellion against the Empire again. Apparently nothing changed in the universe after ROTJ, things just got renamed and Howard the Duck was brought in to redesign the stormtrooper armour....because the appearance of the armour was clearly always the problem. :lol

Yeah, I'd say that Michelle as Catwoman is probably the best part of the flick (besides zombie cats) just a great performance. She really seemed nuts. I also really like the scene where Batman is out patroling in the snow earlier on in the film. Something just very "batmany" about that.

It's the equivalent to Batporn for fans.

I think it's the only time we see him out and about and **** isn't going down in any of the films.

It really is. :lol

I think the closest thing to that since were the shots like this from BB:

Ah yeah, forgot about that. Just brooding on a building, we need more of that.

Yeah, there's actualy a more impressive shot with him much higher on a building, but I couldn't find the .gif. :lol

hopefully Affleck gives us some of that. I really love that shot in BvS, with Batman on the crane holding the sniper. Shot's like that are killer. (even though the trailer's shot was better than the one in the film)

The Professional (Leon)

7/10

Pretty good movie, been years since I watched it. I think a bit overrated though and definitely very awkward at times. Some very cheesy moments in the beginning.

I wasn't referring to you :lol

And I honestly don't have a problem with how people rate things, I just find it a little too easy for some to throw those numbers out there. Save them for truly great films. I've not seen Rogue One so I can't comment on that, but what I'm saying is the lines are blurred with reviews on here when you see the same thing day in and day out.

Yes yes yes.....a 1-10 scale means an AVERAGE MOVIE gets a 5.

Some people seem to think a 1-10 scale means anything thats not a SyFy original gets a 7.......like their scale goes from 7-10

True 10's are timeless classics......
Like

The Godfather
Back to the Future
ESB
Indiana Jones

Etc etc.......

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones 4/10

You're incredibly over generous.

Overrated? I don't know. I always thought it was a good classic film, but nothing more than that.

I love the OST though. Eric Serra, who also did Goldeneye and The Fifth Element.

The Exorcist - 8/10

After watching the good TV series, I need to give that a watch. I don't remember very much from it.
