I think that everyone that ordered one of these was hoping that it came with this:

Need to get a cabinet for these guys, so opening them will have to wait. Meanwhile, notice the paint work, and weathering of trophies/armor. The first generation is quite superior, in my opinion. And it's not really visible by these shots, but the unmasked Jungle Hunter's paint has general shine to it, that adds to it feeling alive more.

The Gort version has sloppy paintwork too in comparison to the original, my closed mouth looks like a work of art in comparison to his younger brother side by side.

There is 1/4 version that comes with the skull trophy. So when NECA showed the new figure with the trophy it seemed like an easy pack in.. After all they would just be making more copies of something that they have already produced.

Makes the omission even more disappointing right? Lol

Speaking of omissions, can anyone who has opened their LED Jungle Hunter confirm whether the fist-hand is included? I can't see it through the package window, yet it's very visible inside the older, closed mouth version's box.

Yeah I just opened mine and it's in there. I'm comparing the two right now and I'm surprised by how many little changes I see. Overall the paint job is definitely better on the original. The bone necklaces on the new one look particularly bad compared to the original. The skin is lighter and less glossy on the new one. The netting is a bit thinner. The armor is less weathered. The coloring on the loin cloth area is missing the redish tone.. It's just brown. The covering around the neck has grayish blue striping where the new one is all black. Version 2 loses across the board when it comes to paint.

Version 2 appears slightly bigger than version 1. Bigger as in bulkier. Legs, arms and torso appear to have more mass.

No skull trophy.

Neither can reach the arm gauntlet with his right hand but V1 comes closer.

Maybe V2 is not actually bigger but just put together differently.

Nah.. I still think V2 is a smidge bigger than V1

I put the V1 shoulder pack on V2 and had to force it to stretch and connect.

Looks like they forgot to detail the bones on V2

I think that I will use the V1 body in my current display and eventually send the V2 off for a repaint. Once painted I will switch to the V2 body because I like the shoulders better, seems a touch bigger than V1 and has the light up gauntlet. But I will use the V1 shoulder mount and gun.
