Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

It does look ridiculous in its make-shift glory but, as I'm sure you know, amazing how much better the figure looks with the proper body shape.

That would be my choice for the next level of 1/6th perfection for companies like HT to take on: get the specific body proportions correct and not just use the same old bodies or mix-and-match body parts. Semi-firm 'foam' undersuits might be the way to go.

You don't get this look with stock True types...

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I meant to ask - with the altered body shapes, did you have to make the clothing as well?

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

No, same old clothing those figures have had for years... well, Goldfinger and Oddjob anyway. Blofeld has a new mao suit, dyed approriately, and Largo has dive pants from 13 years ago but a new DiD captain's jacket. BUT I do "alter" the clothing to better fit the new body -- i.e. stitch sleeves and pant legs slimmer, pull jackets in, hold shirts in place with tape, etc. Nothing that can't be undone really. Except dying... I do ALOT of dye work.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

For bodies with clothes, i love using the old DML bodies although theyre a little buff. I perform "surgery" with my dremel on them, trimming the shoulders, chest, butt, etc...without the clothes, its all texas chainsaw massacre, but once he clothes is on, they good

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

The alterations are perfect though, and the overall effect is stunning. I'm totally jealous.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Thanks. :wink1:

I like DML bodies too -- for the most part they look fine once dressed. My only issue with them is the hands! The hands are god awful and tiny and don't transfer to TTL/HT hands very well. So I've been using cheap HT knock-off bodies alot -- the knock-off narrow's are excellent as a base body for almost everyone. Goldfinger is on a narrow.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I've bumped this so often I doubt anyone will look but I have a need for 1/6th Bond HEADS of Connery or Moore if anyone has them.

Posted in WTB section as well. Thanks.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Hi, everybody!I have some heads wich need to be repaynt. Between them two Conneries Bonds.I sow hear very nice changes of custom sideshow heads. They even seems like another sculpts.Who can do it with my Bonds?

Phil, your bbkill sculpt looks awesome. Very talented work by both the sculptor and painter. Can't wait to see him assembled.

Positron, I am excited to see your Dalton! :) He's my favorite Bond after Craig. I'd love to eventually get his figure.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Thanks Leia!

Guys, I'm a little out of the loop these days - which TT body do you think is best suited for Craig - the standard or the muscular? I don't want Arnold proportions. And is there anywhere but Ebay to get a TT these days?

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Watched Skyfall for the first time the other night, did enjoy it but just didnt live up to what I was expecting unfortunately

I felt the same way after my viewing in the theater. I'm hoping I'll like it better on second viewing. And although I felt Javier kind of underplayed what could have been a more flashy villain, I did like the fact that he harkens back to the more memorable bad guys that have been sorely missed for so long. Complete with personal deformity.

I just got the muscular in the mail yesterday and it is HUGE. I don't know about the size of the head you have, but this body is massive... all I can think of is Arnold. I'm expecting a normal TT in the mail next week, I can take some comparison pics if you'd like.

I really liked Skyfall, but I didn't like the pacing through the last section. The Scotland segment felt clunky and a little slow. I really liked Silva, though; I love smart bad guys, and I liked that he had that slightly fantastical feel of an old school Bond villain. Felt like a step back from CR and QoS in terms of treatment of the female characters, but otherwise I really enjoyed it. The cinematography was really awesome.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Skyfall is a solid bond Flick, but Casino Royale it is not. Missing the magic, it felt a little contrived at times all the throwbacks...

Thanks - I have the BBkill sculpt pictured above. It's a small-ish sculpt, and I am reading elsewhere that if I want to put a suit on the figure I need a narrow shoulder for best results. Hmm.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

My issues were mainly that the opening chase had been exploited by commercials by the time I saw it... that it took its time getting Bond back in action... that there was just too much "nod to Nolan" with that convoluted 'Joker' plot (just to kill mommy in chambers?)... and the final section felt like another borrow, this time from "Bourne".

And don't get me started on the 'audience winks' with the DB5, the logic of which I still don't understand -- since Craig just got 00 status in CR, when the hell did he have any adventures in that car?

I like what Skyfall 'wanted' to be -- I think its heart was going in the right direction -- I just didn't like how it was executed. And these movies need a good editor... or at least a pacing director.
