With hindsight being what it is, I'm glad Randy Quaid's character died in the first one. Can you imagine them bringing that clown back for this one?

Oh. I thought he was in the porn industry or something. I looked him up. He stopped working in Hollywood anyways and believes something called the Hollywood Whackers is out to kill he and his wife. I don't know if they'd have gotten him back for sequels anyways. It's indeed a good thing he was killed off

I'm definitely looking forward to this. I love the first film, and I still have all of the figures, prequel comics and novels from the first film. With this one, I hope we get to see more of the aliens and some soldier vs. Alien ground combat scenes.
Also, Dr. Okun (Spiner) is coming back in the sequel. In fact ,in the original film they even cut out the line "He's dead, sir" from Mitchell in anticipation of bringing him back. The DVD bonus materials from the first film imply that he is in a coma.

Acceptable. With that line never making it into the movie it's easy to surmise that Adam Baldwin's character actually did feel a pulse.
Watching the trailer many times now this should be an interesting fight since the armies are using the alien technology for weapons, but at the same time and what David says, doesn't really matter because this new fleet of Aliens seems stronger than the original.

ID4 is one of my favorite and most viewed movies ever made, I love it for the big dumb popcorn movie it is.
However, I just can't get excited about this sequel as hard as I try. ID4 was gritty and full of great looking practical effects. This movie just looks like any other generic modern sci fi movie full of shiny CGI. Hopefully it will be awesome, I'm just not so pumped for it. But then I was 10 when ID4 released to cinemas, maybe I'm just getting old and grumpy.
